Listening to ESPN radio this morning on the way to work, they said this was the 4th highest combined point total in NFL history. Only 3 games have topped the 100 combined points plateau.

There's one game on their schedule that they could lose depending on injuries. I don't see any other teams being able to keep up with them. But it's a long season...

 

Let's not forget the teams they've beaten are a combined 9-16 this season. That's a .360 winning %.

 

I think lost in the remarkable season Manning is having, and it's been amazing, is the fact that they haven't played a good team yet. :idunno:

I don't know how anyone can beat the Broncos. I feel like a team could score 98 points and Manning would put up 101.

 

In the regular season you are probably right. However we have seen this song and dance before from Manning. He is without question the best regular season QB of all time. However his play drops drastically in the playoffs and the stats prove it. With them having home field most likely, he also will be having to do it outside in the cold weather probably which he has struggled with too.

In theory or in a vacuum yes' date=' but that is not how the (sports) world works. The stats are the same no matter the quarter, but other variables are at play in these type of moments. Robert Horry was always in at the end of games to make shots. He was not inserted mid-second quarter to nail the game winner. Rodney Harrison before the SF/Houston game was talking about what they discussed in defensive team meetings prior to playing against Romo. Unbelievable playmaker that will make a mistake because he overthinks at the end of games. Kind of like LeBron through a big portion of his career. Greatest player ever for 45 minutes, but then turned in to the Frozen One late in games. The excuse cannot always be, "but we wouldn't be right on the cusp without him."[/quote']

 

Then get a closer QB then I guess because what's the point in having a "clutch" QB if he can't get you to that point in the game without a chance? What did Robert Horry give then the rest of the game?

 

I just think this is the most ridiculous argument after this game.

I can't be the only one who thought Romo outplayed Manning, can I? Both made one bad decision all game. Romo just made his at the wrong time.

 

Denver can and will be beaten. They have a 4 game stretch right after the bye week, where they play @SD, KC, @NE, @KC....They will lose at least one of those. @Indy in a couple weeks is a potential loss as well.

I thought they played equally amazing games. Romo had a few more big plays that elevated his numbers but Manning runs the whole show. He is basically the OC/Head Coach of the Broncos and it is fun to watch him work.

 

I, like you, do not think they are unbeatable. We have seen this before. Still remarkable to watch.

And that is a valid way of looking at it. But I think it is just as ridiculous to ignore late moment mishaps and give those moments equal value.

 

I give Romo all the credit in the world and think he gets unfairly hammered often times; but, I also believe he has shown to have a major glitch in his game during crucial situations. I think he would be the first to admit the same.

But the Cowboys lost the game because Romo threw an interception into double coverage deep in his own territory with just over two minutes left in the game. The Broncos held the ball and kicked the game-winning field goal as the clock expired.
