Okay, I've seen James Bolden play a bunch, and I've only seen bits and pieces of Quentin Snider, so I am not nearly informed enough to render an opinion. That being said, and particularly from the video of the two that's available out there, it looks like Snider is a very good point guard with a good handle and a good stroke, but Bolden's handle and quickness look like he is in a different class. Yet I see lots of BGP'ers wishing for a Snider/Bolden match up. Please, someone who is enlightened, break them down and tell me how they've done head to head in AAU.

I don't think they have played against each other in AAU. I know they didn't in 2013. Not sure about previous summers.

Q is also stronger physically than Bolden. Bolden's frame may be a slight issue at D1.

I'd say the only real thing that Snider has on Bolden is strength.

I don't think either could guard one another. Snider's strength would give Bolden problems. Bolden's quickness and handle would give Snider problems.

I know it's been said ad nauseam here, but Bolden's pretty one-handed with the ball. This isn't nearly as much of a problem with Snider based on my observations. Would also say that from distance, Snider appeared to be more of a set shooter, someone who would distribute and look to get the ball back and knock down a shot, while Bolden would be more of a creator. Snider looks to get all the way to the rim more often, and has nice footwork (including a Euro-step), whereas Bolden is more likely to use his cross to step back and pop.

Bolden isn't nearly as polished. He tends to over dribble and doesn't set up teammates as well as Snider. He still has time to get better, but if you're comparing them head to head, it's not even close.

Are you talking about Bolden or Snider? I think they've both gotten significantly bigger interest than Dayton, haven't they?

If we are simply comparing apples to apples, Q is a lot farther along in his development. Has better floor vision, knows when to hunt shots on and off the ball, as has been mentioned is much stronger and isn't so reliant on one hand. That said, Q had a lot of the same concerns going into his junior season and worked hard to improve. Bolden will have the same opportunity, but only time will tell how it pans out...
