JV Game: Trinity 14 - St. X 0.

Freshman Game: Trinity: 28 - St. X 7.

Varsity Game: Trinity 29 - St. X 17.

My final words on this game (Maybe)

 

Based on results this week X's best shot at a regular season win for the next few years was last night. They are senior laden and Trinity is young. X may get some semblance of revenge in a playoff rematch but while we all think that will likley happen Male or Manual may have something to say about that in week 2 of the playoffs.

 

This senior class at Trinity got to look at the ugly stick every day at school. This senior class at X never got to see it at their school.

If T and Scott do meet in the semis I see it being similar to previous meetings. Scott may jump out to a lead and get excited, then they will look across the field and see who they are playing and remember that their coach thinks Trinity is better then Scott Co., so much so that he has been very vocal in his support of eliminating Trinity and other private schools from competition against the public schools in the playoffs. Psychologically they are already at a disadvantage.

Random thoughts as you rightly pound your claim to a stick:

 

Based upon what I saw last night, Trinity is the third best team X has faced. Trinity might say the same....don't know ..they may say 4th

Trinity players are much better coached by a long shot. Defense stays in their gaps,and remains disciplined. Offense hums with precision

You are forewarned------Walker may be the best back in the State, but you will have to ask Big Mo and Purple fans. He plays at another speed and would have made a big, big difference. No crack on Davis, but they are totally different players

 

I do hope for a rematch later this year... Both teams will be better, and hopefully fully loaded

Given as much time as Reggie had I really would have expected him to carve up the X secondary more effectively. He still needs to learn a bit with his touch on the ball. He has a cannon, he just needs to tone it down sometimes.

 

Being a X and Louisville fan I hope he improves touch "after" this season....

Did anyone else notice Wolford giving Beatty a HUG after the game? This had to be the first in series history! Also, why did St X stick around and actually line up for the awarding of the Shillelagh? Motivational ploy by the new staff? Very odd behavior.

Forgot about that......I hope his surgery went well, and he comes back at full beast mode.

On the 4th and 1, I knew he was a different breed. I felt like he was basically giving up right then and there.

He played much better than he has all season, but as evidenced even that wasn't good enough. Politics are sometimes too much to overcome.
