Conner 26 Cooper 21

I had Will on a team a few years back, very smart kid, good leader. I remember giving him advice against Highlands his Frosh year it ended with telling him to pray. Great kid and very nice hidden QB. 50+ passes sheesh.

I've said for two years now this is the biggest rivalry in NKY. I still believe that. While I haven't seen the tweets I did hear that a lot of Cooper and Conner fans were going at it on Twitter. I even heard a representative from Cooper was throwing out salvos at Drew.

Yikes.

Big rivalry.

This is just pathetic and despicable. Grown men tweeting trash at a high school kid is just lame. Grow up!

Two years in a row where Conner sweeps the county. Not bad boys. Congrats.

I guess that is something to be proud of, especially anytime you win. But Boone has their worst team of my lifetime, Ryle looked very bad and I honestly thought before the season that Conner would have a running clock on Cooper this year. I don't see any of the Boone County teams making any serious noise in the playoff's. Conner has the best chance to win a couple games if their pass defense stops looking like swiss cheese.

Throw out the records in this game every year. This game will always be a grinder imo.

I have had a night...or at least a couple hours to sleep on this game and now I'm ready to talka little more about it after letting it sink in.

This may have been one of the best high school games I may see this year. It had a little bit of everything. There were some serious hard hitting going on, some never say die attitudes out on the field and most of all some great individual plays.

Barker wouldn't be beaten on that night, he knew what he had to do and went out and did it. Stepped up big when his team needed him to.

Andrew Way had a big game and made the big play at the end to seal the deal.

Ludwig was the Brett Favre of NKY football last night, the gunslinger who wouldn't quit and had a great game. He wishes he could have the last throw back but shouldn't hang his head, he played an outstanding game.

Morgan made some nice catches and one of them he had to go up for and got crushed and still hang on, great game by him.

My favorite play of the game, was also the best catch I've seen in awhile. IT wasn't a TD catch, or a diving catch, but Fussinger who had another great game made a sideline catch in the first half with a ball that was fired behind him, keeping his toes inbounds reached back and snared it out of the air staying in bounds for the first down catch. I don't want to sound biased here, but I've seen a lot of catches by him over the last 3 years, diving, going up over defenders to come down with the ball for TD's, going up between defenders to pull one out of the air, but that catch was the best catch I've ever seen him have.

This game is such a big rivalry and can only get better in years to come. I'm just glad I was able to see it from the beginning. The boys that played in this game since the redistricting 3 years ago have been a part of some great games and some of the best plays you'll see each year tend to come from these games. It was a special night also for some players who grew up playing football together from 1st grade on. 12 years of playing together and last night was the last time they would suit up on the same field. Good luck the rest of the way to both teams, and for you seniors.....Last night's game is what high school football is all about.

Am I wrong in thinking Fussinger is a NAIA-level WR? Georgetown?

Not at all. He will play beyond high school. Just a matter of where. Bright future. Stud.

He's on a recruiting trip today.

That's what I heard. He's going to Oberlin which is TOP NOTCH academically.

Best of luck to him.

My son and I were discussing this, this morning and both agree Fussinger should play in college.

Just folds in playoffs because they dont have a defense. I guess we will see this year.
