One thing I'll say is that if Dusty is back, and all indications are that he will be, and they don't make drastic changes in the offseason, I'll have to think long and hard about spending my money on season tickets again, or just tickets in general.

Especially hard for those that watched our beloved teams win 3 World Series, and go to two Super Bowls.

 

I only had the pleasure of watching 1 super bowl and 1 world series. I was alive for the first super bowl, but much to young to remember. I understand what ya mean. I think my biggest frustration with our fans and with most fans for that matter is the fan that decides to go on a rant about how terrible a player is and how they need to traded and blah blah blah. I feel as if i may be the only one on here that thinks its just plaing stupidity to call any professional athlete "terrible". This is most of the reason why you find me sticking up for people like Ryan Ludwick. Ya, a certain athlete may not be the greatest every single year, but to say they suck or that they are terrible is just stupid.

 

There is over 6,000 professional baseball players between the minors and majors. That doesnt include all of the frontier league teams or college and high school hopefuls that get drafted every year. To say that any player that makes the 25 man roster on 1 of the 30 mlb teams sucks does not sit well with me. I know that this post will catch some flack with the typical "so fans arent allowed to speak their displeasure with a player?". Not what im saying. If you dont like a particular player or you are questioning their effort when they jog to first base, fine. But please stop saying a player sucks. Its just simply not true.

It's not using them as a benchmark as much as it is realistic expectations of a small market team. They can't go out and load up every year and overspend, like the Dodgers, Sawx and Yanks.

 

If they continue to be competitive and compete for divisional titles and go to the playoffs in today's current professional sports climate I think we should recognize that they are doing some things right, instead of harping on all the things they are doing wrong...or so we think.

For one if they decide to stand pat they will digress. I do realize what they do well, they have very good pitching, they finally got a cfer, who is going to leave, after that, what do we have? Joey ( Sabremetrics) Votto? Brandon (Hotdog) Phillips? Jay (couldn't be more inconsistent) Bruce? Yeah, they do some things well. Is it good enough?

Nothing wrong with wanting more. Nothing at all. Quite a few complaints are warranted. It's the type of fan that I posted about initially that we seem to have a ton of. Complaining about the manager that leaves a starter in to give up 2 runs. Complaining about an offensive coordinator when the QB simply isn't good enough to have a high QBR. And so on.

 

Hey, I'm with you. I want both teams, although I'm not that big of a Bengals fan, to be successful and win in the playoffs. I was going crazy Tuesday night and Wednesday morning sucked. I just think the vast majority of complaints regarding Cincinnati teams are off base.

 

I will say, most of the intelligent complaints I hear are on BGP because they're usually backed up.

 

Oh, and I need more nicknames. What about Frazier, Cozart and Hanigan?
