Arrez Henderson will only be a serious contender if he can learn the guard spot. Right now he is living on the baseline and has no effective perimeter game. He become a more complete player offensively. He is a strong defender and rebounder. Again, he is a 6'1" forward.

Hopefully we will get to see Proffitt and Pettigrew square off on the floor at Rupp. That should answer some questions as to who the favorite is.

 

These two are great but let me throw in a nky boy for the class of 07'... Duran Jefferson, he is a total package not for sure what is exact stats but let me assure you they probably aren't low, even his Defensive stats should be high.

Does Russ Middleton have any shot on 09 he starts as a freshman now for Mason and does well.

Russ Middleton is a solid player. He is developing and certainly is making his way in to the top 10 of his class. There are several players starting for their respective varsity teams that you will hear more about in the future. I think Middleton will need to develop more of a perimeter game and has to play better on the defensive end. He is just a frosh and has plenty of time. He will be one to watch for.

Jacob Jenkins 6'3" Guard DuPont Manual

I heard the Jenkins kid is something special. I haven't seen him play this year but heard he was a heck of a player in 8th grade at South Oldham and is now starting as a Freshmen at Manual. Is he that good to be considered a Mr.Basketball candidate?

Josh Crawford of Corbin would have to be among the leaders in the '08 race.

Alot will depend on how Corbin fares on a statewide level and how much pub he can get.

I like Ty Profitt for 2007 and Darius Miller 2008.

I can agree with these statement. He has to develop a consistant shot from the outside also. He is playing like a top notch player right now, but how will he handle the situation as a senior when he doesn't have Duran or Austin or Edmondson to attract some of the attention and get him the ball.

Perfect analysis by Stripes3. All we've got to go on is potential with this young man. It may be hidden due to the teammates he has and the role he has to fill. However, before we annoint him we need to see some all-around game displayed. He very well could have it and may be the best there is but we have not had the opportunity to see it yet.

Have you watched Arrez play is all I ask? He guards, the forwards on other teams alot because that is what he is called upon to do. But Arrez does not lack penetration skills. He does need to perfect a consistent 3pt shot.

In the games I watch Henderson has played his best when alot of the other "Studs" weren't on the floor. In the Pendelton and the Scott County game when players were in foul trouble Henderson carried them. In the Trinity game in the 5/3 with Jefferson and Rice out. Henderson takes the game over in OT and scores all 10 points in OT to win.

 

The jump shot needs to become more consistent, but as of right now, henderson strength and athletcism with penetration from the outside is as good as anyone I would think right now in the class of 08.
