In 1999, Newport, NewCath, and Highlands all drew into the same bracket. Since then, NewCath, and Highlands have stayed away from one another.

Why are these not seeded? Either Newport or NCC is gone before Dayton even plays? Dayton gets lucky on one night and they're in the regional tournament. This is ridiculous. A team moves into the regional tournament even after losing in district championship? Is there any other state where a team moves on after losing a tournament game? Somebody please clue me in on why this is best to determine our regional champ. I just don't get it.

Welcome to Brossart's world last season when the two best teams in the 10th Region drew each other for the first game in their district. Pendleton County wins a barnburner and doesn't have a close game again until they reach Rupp.

He will the 1st player to play in 4 tournaments. 8th,9th,JV, and Varsity. Newport odds on favorites in all tourneys

Well I guess that proved Pendleton County was the best team, since they beat Brossart every time they did play them last year and rightfully went to Rupp. :flame:

By the way Bellevue is playing, and with the Tigers having home court advantage, I hope Willie and the Bluebirds don't overlook the "Old Black and Gold". (Good Luck Both Teams!!!).

Has the dates for the first round been set I went to khsaa and couldn't find it. Is it the 27th and 28th. Does anyone know?

Basketball District Tournament Schedule - all games boys/girls will be played at Bellevue

 

February 27

Newport vs NewCath - girls 6:00 PM; boys 8:00 PM

February 28

Highlands vs Bellevue - girls 6:00 PM; boys 8:00 PM

March 1

Newport/NewCath winner vs Dayton - girls 6:00 PM; boys 8:00 PM

 

3/3 District Finals - boys 7:30 PM

3/4 District Finals - girls 7:30 PM
