I know you love you some Dusty but the team especially in baseball will overcome bad decisions at times with talent. Dusty was terrible yesterday but the result worked out.

However, that has nothing do with the statement I quoted. You are basically saying that every decision a coach makes that works is luck. If that's the case I shouldn't hear any complaints about Dusty because, even if it works, it's all luck.

That's not at all what I said and I don't appreciate you telling me what I said. If Izturis and his .225 OBP gets lucky and gets 3 hits it doesn't mean he should have been in the two hole and it doesn't mean you should bunt to get to him with the game on the line.

No, but I will now. It was a terrible decision that worked out. It doesn't make the decision good though. A good result doesn't mean the decision was smart. It was also dumb to bunt to get to Izturis who popped up so Votto could be walked. That was a dumb decision that ended with a bad result. Some dumb decisions end with luckily good results and some end with bad ones. Just like all good managerial decisions don't end with good results.

Funny that you never have posted that a good decision hasn't worked out. Bottom line, the result is what makes the decision, whether you want to believe it or not. At least, that's what most fans believe, especially on BGP. I have told people for years that the manager has made good decisions and the players didn't produce. You, as well as everyone else, will still bash him for it. Hell, you did when it did work.
