Nice job by Dixie. I expected a couple TD spread and thought it could be more. The red Colonels are living up to their billing as a team that is a threat.

If I am CCH, I move Sam Dressman to QB if Wagner is out.

Smart move by CovCath staff to finally put the elder Dressman in the QB spot when in 4 down territory after maybe a 3 yard punt by Dixie. Run the ball every time and score.

Dixie can be really good if they take care of the ball and get special teams in order.

I think QB could have walked into Endzone at end of first half and instead threw an interception by putting ball where only CovCath could catch it.

Is this right? You meant 30 yd punt right. A 3 yd punt would be approx 9 feet....

You're not the only one questioning that. When they went with Owens, Caple, and Washington in the backfield and ran between the tackles, they probably averaged 4+ yards per carry. They did this on their first and last drives, and maybe once in between. I would've pounded it all night and kept CCH's offense off the field, or at least until they made adjustments to stop it.

Dixie has no receivers again, or all of CCH's db's are just studs. They really only got separation once on the last drive, and it was dropped. If only Moore could throw to himself.

Moore was off tonight from a passing standpoint. He under threw the receivers multiple times, and he threw a lot of floaters. The receiver didn't help him at all on the pick at the half. However, he can run very well.

This was a totally different Dixie team in week one compared to past years. I didn't notice any players really sucking wind. I don't think anyone went out with cramps. IMO, they looked very well conditioned.

I hope Wagner, Bir, and the coach/parent that collapsed are all OK. Bir looked like a shoulder or collarbone issue. He was tackled hard on the play.

And yet Dixie only scored 6 points from their offense, and remember CovCath still has Burchell and Oberhausen out of the starting lineup due to injury.

Huge, huge win and a character win for CovCath to pull out the win while losing their QB and RB in this game but with Mattie Way earning 3 int's with two of them being in the end-zone, CovCath refused to lose, when it would have been easy to do so.

Big tip of the hat to young Jacob Litzler for making his PAT's and to Sr. Sam Dressman who took the CovCath offense on his shoulder in the 4th quarter.

A little surprised the margin wasn't more. I know Dixie is improved, but, CCH is expecting big, big things this year. Thought they may be a little more competitive with Highlands this year, but, after this outcome, I'm not so sure now.

Name me a HS team who losses their starting QB, their Starting RB in the second quarter, can't start two of their three best defenders and still wins a huge rival game, as they Intercept a pass to end the game in the end zone!

When it was 14-13 and Dixie had the momentum, I got nervous. But then I remembered Brossart was coaching and relaxed quite a bit...

Just mean and uncalled for. This shows your character and what type of person you are.

Uncalled for, Tuesday night is amateur night at the Funny Bone!

Good win for the Colonels. D did what Ds do. Stopped them from scoring too many. Good to see.

I was not a fan of Brossart's hire when Spritzky stepped down, but the kids went to bat for Brossart and he was hired. The kids seem to respond well to this coaching staff. The man really cares about getting his kids prepared and you have to give him credit. He has even showed interest in the younger kids at Turkeyfoot, which hasn't been much of a priority in years past. I believe he wants to try and build something at Dixie and I'm willing to give him some time. Taking shots at him is bad form.

I agree with the comments about Brossart, looks like he really has this team headed in the right direction. I watched the first half of the game and he really has the team believing in themselves and that is the most important thing to accomplish as a coach.

For a game that was predicted to be a blowout, he had his team on the verge of pulling this one out and he kept it close the entire game. I see nothing but big things in the future with him at the helm.

In another thread someone said they couldn't wait to see CCH have their "metal" tested. I think they showed last night that their mettle can be tested and they can come out on top.

Definitely an unfair pot shot at Coach Brossart. Uncalled for. His team was prepared and played hard. Best defensive performance I think I've ever seen by a player. Mattie Way willed this team to a win and refused to lose. The game ended the way it should have ended, with a Mattie Way pick. Gutty, gutty performance by the Colonels overcoming as much adversity as you can muster when all heck broke loose.

In addition to Way's picks and D I liked his feistiness.
