Announcer on nkysports.com (who often bashes officials) just said that it wasn't IG because the QB was outside the tackles.

I saw IC called correctly tonight on Somerset in the end zone resulting in a safety for Belfry. Of course a guy within earshot said it wasn't because the QB was outside the tackles. I just grinned.

The game I went to tonight was similar. QB threw it out of bounds without a receiver within 15 yards. The official called it I.G. and some of our fans complained. I said, "IT's Friday night. Not Sunday afternoon."

Ha, I don't know what IC is, but I meant to type IG.

 

I should know not to be posting past my bedtime, lol.

The officials have enough credibility issues without getting grief for properly calling some of these rules.

 

When possible I try to politely point out the correct rule - but usually 1 on 1.

 

The area I would like to see officials get much better at is the free-blocking zone and seeing block of LBs in the back but that is another thread.

It was called on Evansville North Friday night in their game with Henderson. It was called correctly however the penalty was not enforced correctly. They walked off 5 yards from the previous line of scrimmage instead of where the foul occurred. As a side note, from the way the North coach argued the call he didn't know the rule either.

I was at a game this weekend and overheard a parent telling a player afterwards, "How do you feel, you broke the losing streak? We haven't beaten them in seven games." I couldn't help myself. I told her, "I'm sorry to butt in but, actually, we won two years ago." She refuted, "Well, that's what somebody told me and they should know." I responded, "They should know but they don't. I was here two years ago and saw it with my own eyes. They're wrong."

 

It was meaningless but I can't stand misinformation.
