The Professor Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Lee County wins the district regular season trophy, and will be presented with the award when the 56th district coaches have their district tournament meeting later this month. Congratulations to the Bobcats on their perfect 6-0 conference record. That is never easy to do.
Master D Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Good win for Lee. Congrats to Lee county and Coach Wright for winning the regular season championship. Looks like Lee vs Owsley Part IV Congrats to the bobcats on the #1 seed! Big Big Big game 1st round of the 56th Owsley v.s. Lee!
BadCat Posted February 7, 2006 Author Posted February 7, 2006 Actually, Professor, Lee is 8-0 against district teams. 3-0 against Estill and Owsley, and 2-0 against Powell. Will surely play Owsley once more, and it doesn't stretch the imagination too far for Lee and Estill to play twice more (district and regional finals). Going 11-0 against district teams? That would be tough.
RonnieThePopular Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Actually badcat, the other Estill and Owsley games Lee won were in tournaments so therefore don't count as district games, but I think I know what you mean. This was a good game. I really thought my boys would win, and we were up at the half. I didn't get to the game until right before tipoff and didn't get to talk to any of the players but to me, Dixon looked like he didnt feel well. His first step was slower than normal. The Bobcats played good D. One thing that bothered me was when we were coming back and we had a good defensive stand going, the ref stopped the game signaling a time out for Lee that they never called. He signaled "30 Second" by putting his hands on his shoulders and then I guess realized Coach Wright didnt want one. But that is not the reason we lost. We rebounded poorly toward the end of the game and didn't keep our intensity up. Lee is fortunate to play Owsley again while we will have a tough time with Powell. I hope we meet in the finals Bobcats for another hard fought game.
BadCat Posted February 7, 2006 Author Posted February 7, 2006 Ronnie, I thought maybe the timeout was for an estill player that looked to be injured, but could be wrong about that. I also thought maybe both teams a little sluggish. We have had a nasty bug going around here, but I dont know if any players had it. I do know Landon Johnson didnt play, and he certainly could have contributed in this game. Maybe sore ankle?

He did signal 30 second time out though and then conferred witht the other officials. Maybe he got his signal mixed there. It happens.

That would be tough. You're right, they could go 11-0, and that would be remarkable. But as far as the conference title goes, only the 6 seeded games are used to detemine who's awarded the championship trophy.

Yes Ronnie the time out was for an Estill player injured, he was bent over and the ref stopped the action rightfully so, but the player said he was ok and play continued. Landon Johnson Lees sixth man injured an ankle in practice and is day to day I think Estill is a very good team and I like Dixon for the player in hte region. I don't want to see them anymore they are going to be dangerous in the tourney.
RonnieThePopular Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Dixon is a class act. A very very good kid and will be a good contributing citizen.

I spoke to him after the game and he told me was visiting Cumberland in the near future. I hope him nothing but success he is a great kid and player. I enjoy kids like him we need more Clinton Dixons
Big Game Player Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Nice season for the Bobcats , been a long time since Lee has been top in the distric. Lee better not over look Owlsey or if they win had better be ready to play because Estill wants sometihng to celebrate now they have a chance to win something. Districs will be great to watch eventhough predicting favorites wouldnt be a bad choice.
