Wasn't in on the football thread, don't know anything about it... but it's a nice cop-out to defending a league that is, outside of Florida and Kentucky, more-or-less a garbage pile.

Yeah, obviously their conference was better last year. I was talking about this year in my original post. As I mentioned before This is a pointless discussion the UL fans will defend their schedule to the death citing the conference realignment as the reason. Which is fine, but the schedule still sucks. Can't wait for 12/31!

 

Who's defending it? It's weak. But only the UK fans seem to want to talk about it.

 

Lots of concern over whether we're getting value for our season tickets; it's much appreciated.

That's funny. I think the one person who alluded to that isn't even a UL fan. What's funnier is that the initial poster called the schedule weak and then tried to trump up Southern Miss and Memphis. The known UL fans said it was a weak schedule. One even said 36-0 heading into the tournament.

I didn't allude to that. I just called a spade a spade. It's a weak schedule that doesn't have many big name schools on it. I said watch out for Southern Miss because that's the one school on the schedule that I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt will be absolutely prepared and in the mix for an upset bid. I said Memphis because they are loaded with talent.

I should make a disclaimer that when I talk basketball, I'm generally in allkyhoops mode rather than fan mode. My ridiculously dumb UK fan posts, for the most part, are a thing of the past. Believe it or not, I actually like Rick Pitino and have a great deal of respect for him.

You hear that Pitino? I'm calling you out! Why won't you play Dayton? A couple losses and you cancel a series that spans decades? That goes for you too, Notre Dame, Marquette, Cincinnati and Xavier. All chickens.

Pitino had crappy schedules while he was at UK. It's not a surprise that he's doing the same at UL. It just looks worse this year because of the conference transition.
