August 21, 201313 yr Apologies if the sizing is weird. Like football, realignment took its toll on the schedule during this strange year of transition. Gone are Syracuse, Pittsburgh, and Notre Dame. Still have a couple of the old classics and we've added in Memphis and Temple, who always have solid teams.

It's the day after Thanksgiving and nobody's going to work. No telling how early those bars along Main Street will start filling up. That crowd will be... interesting. I can't really describe the sound that comes out of that place on a Friday night. It's loud and slightly off-putting.

It's definitely a stark contrast with last year's but there's nothing to be done about conference realignment except try to get out ahead of it. Gone are Georgetown, Marquette, Syracuse, Pittsburgh and Notre Dame... replaced by Houston, Central Florida, Temple, Southern Methodist...

August 22, 201313 yr Pee on the conference all you want, but the top of the SEC (Kentucky & Florida) = the top of The American (Louisville & UConn). 3 through 10 are comparable. Temple and Memphis would do well in the SEC.
August 22, 201313 yr Memphis is expected to be pretty strong this year. But it's UL's out of conference that lacks IMO. With a bunch of veterans returning & with the year in this conference, I think they would have done well to beef it up more than they did.
