Olbermann could indeed be returning to ESPN, with a late-night talk show

Featured Replies

Driving the discussions of an unlikely reunion, which Raissman calls “very fluid,” could be the mutual enemy of ESPN and Olbermann. With FOX Sports 1 coming next month, ESPN apparently is looking for ways to continue its domination of the TV sports landscape. While Olbermann had an ugly split with ESPN, he had an even uglier divorce from FOX, and the animosity lingered through his time with MSNBC, where Olbermann hosted a popular and polarizing (and extremely entertaining and informative) evening news and analysis show. Olbermann also co-hosted NBC’s Football Night in America from 2007 through 2009.

It’s still not a done deal, but it’s an intriguing development that could bring a very unique and diverse talent back to the place where his career took off.

My guess is most of you don't care for Olbermann, I say bring him on.

I'd rather see Craig Kilborn back. That dude is hilarious

Back in the day, watching SC with Olbermann and Patrick was almost must-see, for me. Now, not so much.

I liked him on ESPN, back in the day. Probably haven't seen him for a decade or so in any capacity.

Agreed. He's not bland. He's not a mental lightweight like many talking heads we get.

Liked him and the others from back in the day

Olbermann was one of my favorites when it was he and Dan Patrick together. Then When Olbermann left sports and showed the real Keith Olbermann with his politics he really turned my stomach with his biased reporting of politics. So much that I can't even stomach him when he's on Sunday Night football doing the Football in America with Dan Patrick etc. in the studio.

He should of stayed in the first place and kept his personal politics out of his professional career.

No big deal to me as I'm never up late and certainly won't watch a talk sports show when I am. I've never seen much of him anywhere and liked little of what I did see from him.

Seemed to get emotionally upset pretty often on MSNBC. I really wondered about his state of mind sometimes. Was he that way on Fox and ESPN?

Espn he was very funny, never really put his personal opinions out there. He went downhill when he left by broadcasting personal viewpoints which should not be a part of the news.

Politics and Entertainment rarely mix well.

So which political talking head do you watch that keeps their personal politics off the air?

Do you think he's going to talk about Republicans while he's doing a sports show?

Agreed on wondering about his state of mind. It was obviously personal to him and passion of his. That's fine. I don't mind people who have passion.

I don't see why some who hate his politics worry about how he will be on a sports show.

I guarantee you there are probably lots of sports guy I listen to who do not share my views on life. Doesn't matter. I'm there to listen to sports talk.

HB, I'm not sure you understand why he got hired at MSNBC. He got hired to do EXACTLY what he did.
