Peddicord resigns from St Henry

Featured Replies

Donated? Doubt it. The real problem as I've stated before is the lack of commitment towards St H's baseball program. Again, no support from the St H Admin.. Case in point: the baseball team has yet to have a banquet and or awards, i.e. letters, awards, etc.. that are well earned. The kids at least deserve to be recognized for what they have accomplished. NOTHING!! VERY SAD!!

From my experience it's up to the team to put that together. Not the administration.

I think it's great that capital improvements are being made at St Henry. Last year it was a new track so that St Henry could host track meets. This year it's a new soccer field. Who knows what will be next. Stay tuned.

Great points and a popular phrase used often "patience is a virtue".

St. Henry does have two Soccer teams. When the Girls are playing, the boys can't have practice. You also have 4 teams playing games on that field. So scheduling is a problem.

Why do parents create the divisions in the programs?

I think that the above comments are what creates division between programs--- when the justification for the new field is due to having 2 teams and scheduling issues.

Soccer is not the only sport with 2 teams and scheduling issues.

Basketball also has 2 teams. When the boys are playing the girls can't practice and vice versa. You also have 4 teams playing games on the one court. So scheduling is also an issue for basketball.

Add to that the scheduling issues with volleyball when the seasons overlap (2 more teams).

In addition, the swim team has their dry land practices on the perimeter of the gym during basketball practices on the days they don't go to Silverlake.

This is the best response, and I am in full support of the new soccer field.

"Soccer is very tough on a Grass Field so if you want to keep your Playing Field nice for a game, you have to practice somewhere else."

Anybody hear of any of the possible candidates for the job?

I have heard former player Craig Shanks is interested in the job. He most recently has been assisting at Lloyd with their freshmen team.

That would be interesting. I know Craig very well. I feel like St. Henry may go with someone a little older and more experienced however.

My comments are specifically geared towards the Baseball vs Soccer arguments. I do get what you are saying, but Basketball, Volleyball and the Dry Swimteam:ohbrother: don't wear out or destroy a playing surface. I just don't see how anyone looks at the Baseball and Softball programs at St. Henry and says that they are getting shorted in any way. They are two of the nicest stadiums in NKY. I realize that was a lot of work from for coaches, parents and players.

You do what you have to do to make it work. I'm a Beechwood alum and there are no more over-used facilities than those at Beechwood. Beechwood Baseball field becomes a soccer field in July. In fact, when I was up there last week, I noticed 2nd and 3rd bases are now covered with SOD. I guess that means no Fall Baseball at Beechwood.

Any word on a new coach yet?

Richard Skinner tweeted last night that an announcement was to come today. Added that it could possibly be a former Reds player.
