Holmes finished the day at 16 under and in the lead going into the final round. Hope he can hang on and win this thing tomorrow.

Did anybody else hear a few fans yell C-A-T-S, Cats!Cats!Cats! when JB was walking between 18 and the scorer's table?

I was so tickled for him, leading the tourney, getting all those high fives and then hearing the chant, I got real choked up for a few seconds.

Who needs 4 or 5 hours of Super Bowl pregame? I'm watching John Bradley Holmes.!!!

Super Bowl party starts at 3:00 on CBS for Cats fans!!!

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!!!!

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!!!!

$936k check plus his 10th place finish earlier makes him the fastest to $1M.

Nice job for a college kid.

:dancingpa :dancingpa woo hoo way to go JB :dancingpa :dancingpa

It was terrific to watch him today, he has all the tools and was being compared to some pretty good players all day long. My favorite comment was from D.F. who said he hadnt seen anything like this since Tiger came on the scene. :sssh: Don't get caught up in the hype J.B., keep up the good play! :ylsuper:

I like when Jim Nantz mentioned that Tiger won in his 5th professional event -- J.B. in his 4th. I thought when the Ryder Cup stuff came up they were getting a little ahead of themselves. Let's savor this one -- especially those of us that have been fortunate to be following his career the last few years.

Classy move by Flesch waiting 3 hours to congratulate him.

Ryder Cup points had already come to mind for me...so I'm guilty of getting a little ahead of myself, hssrb.

Goin' to the Masters !!

:dancingpa :dancingpa :dancingpa

For the record, after yesterday's win, he went from 124th to 9th in Ryder Cup Points. The top 10 automatically are on the team.

I think he has to stay in the Top 15 on the Money list through March (or so) to get an Augusta invite. That or win again. Digger or JaHearMe can correct that if I'm mistaken.

"He's one of those couple of guys that for some reason it really doesn't look like he's swinging hard at it but it goes forever."

-- J.J. Henry on FBR Open champion J.B. Holmes

Interesting that J.B., as of Friday, was choosing not to play Pebble Beach this weekend. Now that he has a shot to get into the Match Play (Top 64 of World Rankings, updated rankings aren't out yet), interesting to see if he changes his mind and plays this weekend.

Hot off the presses, his World Ranking has jumped from 464 to 77. Wow.

The eagle putt that sealed the deal shows the stones he has. Going for your first PGA victory and sink a 14 foot eagle putt to seal it, WHOA!!!

BTW, they said he played high school golf in the 3rd grade...
