Obamacare Implementation Delayed

Featured Replies

On July 2 the Department of Treasury issued a one year delay on the Affordable Care Act requirements for businesses with more than 50 employees. This gives everyone more time to implement the act and comply with the new law.

I posted a link to this story in the small business thread... Obama has delayed this til after the 14 election.. Can't have many more disgruntled voters before he election.. Pure politics.

What so he can get elected for the 3rd time?

I am trying to think of something that isn't "pure politics". If Obamacare were overturned, wouldn't it be fair to say it was "pure politics"?

Nope, it would be in the best interest of the country!

:lol2:

Perspective is a funny thing.

Truth be known, Obama doesn't have enough money without asking for billions more than was estimated to fully implement his monstrosity and he is afraid to ask for more before the mid-terms... Another reason the Dems let the interest rates double on student loans.. He desperately needs more revenue(money)...

Darned if you do, darned if you don't!:lol2::lol2::lol2::lol2:

Of course not!

That makes much more sense. :lol2: Shows how close I follow this stuff. :D

The press won't report it this way but this is a huge admission of defeat by Obama. Having to ask Congress for billions more and along with the thousands of jobs that will be lost would cost the Dems. a bunch of seats in the mid-terms...

Darned if you do, darned if you don't!:lol2::lol2::lol2::lol2:
More like damned that they did...which is exactly what they did to us.

Does Obama even have the authority to delay the mandate or is it just another end run around Congress??

There is no doubt there are problems with Obamacare. This delay is proof. I was happy to see this delay because it fits with what I want to see happen with Obamacare - fix it. I absolutely do not want to see it go away. Healthcare in this country has been a mess with constantly rising costs my entire life. I want change and Obamacare is change. If Obamacare is eliminated, we may not see another attempt at major changes in healthcare again. Make it work. If it is delayed and delayed and not fully implemented till 2020, that is fine by me. Use the framework put in place by Obamacare and keep fixing the problems till it is right.
