8 scoreless innings against the Cubs pen is nearly impossible. Up to 6 L's after leading in 8th as well. Ugh...

 

This is a bigger issue than using a sore Broxton or not using Chapman. You can't let the offense off the hook every time by blaming the manager.

 

Say you use Chapman for an inning and still don't score. Who's next? They showed no signs of putting enough hits together to get the job done offensively.

So they want to rest it and they do for the whole Cubs series. The Reds get to the bottom of the available pitchers and Broxton says he can go one inning. Dusty doesn't want to use him, preferring to let him rest the arm but he is out of pitchers. So he takes Broxton up on it and lets him go. What is the drama?
