NCC's Diehl and Smith to Georgetown

Featured Replies

Gtown continues to hit NKY hard as Justin Smith and Slingin' Sammy Diehl committed to the Tigers.

Interesting to me: The article I read said that Gtown was the only school recruiting Diehl. I find that hard to believe.

How many qbs will be on the Gtown roster next year? It seems like they bring in quite a few.

Congratulations to both. I always knew that, deep down inside, you wanted to be Tigers!

JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!

According to Gtown's press release they are bringing in a total of 3.

Matt Rogers – QB – 6-2, 187 – Indian Creek, IN

Sam Diehl – QB – 6-1, 180 – Newport Central

Cory Britt – QB – 6-2, 185 – Harrison Co.

Congrats to Sam Diehl. Wish him the best. Georgetown has several QB's on their roster including last years starter (whose name I forget) and former Ludlow standout Mike Lewis who redshirted this past year. Hopefully he is open to a move to another position because it might be sometime if ever before he would see any action at QB for G-Town.

The truth is, alot of kids walk after their first year in college. Others just never pan out. It's way to early to say whether he will have to move positions. Good luck boys! Great to hear you'll be going on to the next level. Enjoy it.

In general your theory is correct, SM. However, I don't see that happening at Gtown as much as , say, TMC. Their players seem to stay for the most part especially if they have a chance to get PT.

I'd look for the Lewis kid to use his athletic ability on the D side.

That would be Jeff Smith of NC(Justin and Kevin's brother). Nice for the Smith parents to only have to travel to one site to see their 3 boys play.

The next one entering high school might end up being the best one. :sssh:

You might be right. Saw him over the holidays and he has been hitting the weight room a great deal and he has bulked up considerably. Still being told that he will get his chance to play QB but Mike is prepared to do whatever it takes to see the most action on the field. He has used the year off so to speak to improve himself and I believe we will hear from him sooner rather then later.

SMITH DIDN'T GO D-1 OR AT LEAST 1AA????!!!!!

Apparently, he turned down Murray State.

CONGRATS!!!! to both of you guys----- :thumb: :thumb:

Congratulations to your parents also for always being there for you and raising two class young men. Both of you had outstanding high school careers and your senior year was super capped off with the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. Leadership is a great quality.

Georgetown is getting two really good players from the hill and I wish you guys the best. Keep working as hard as you did at NEWCATH.

With all that being said I'll see you two next year down at UNION home of the BULLDOGS.

GO DAWGS!!!! ------ :dancingpa

Congrats to Justin and Sammy! Look forward to seeing you play the next four years.

Most players at place like G-Town don't get to play until they are Juniors or Seniors anyway. Thats why they play J.V. games as well.
