February 6, 201412 yr The battle I'm interested in seeing as well is can Brooks consistently beat Tubberville in his own city for recruits. I think the biggest challenge UC will have is their conference affiliation and uncertainty going forward. As a recruit, that would concern me.
February 6, 201412 yr Then hopefully this builds a solid foundation to land some elite guys' date=' not in Ohio specifically but everywhere.[/quote'] I've said that all along. I could show you Stoops' blue print. He is getting as many quality players as he can now and will try to make them successful to lure in elite players to get to the SEC champ. It's def not a bad strategy but he's in the SEC, so he can't rely on Ohio.
February 6, 201412 yr Author It's not all Ohio (although a good majority), I feel they done a pretty good job casting their net and getting guys to UK. Bringing guys in from Texas, and Maryland shows just how hard these guys are working. The work in Ohio speaks for itself considering how few guys Kentucky has pryed from there historically.
February 6, 201412 yr A lot of them are yes. Tressell for years tried developing them against the SEC giants and we all know how that went. Some players can give you 4 solid years, some will give you a BCS wins. But you don't wanna bring a knife to a gun fight. Making it to those championship games with those kids had to just suck.

Sounds like Ohio kids are over starred, if OSU can't win with 4* athletes...maybe they should be rated lower. Rivals for example only has 33 5*'s this year, so if you can't win with 4*'s your in trouble...no where enough 5*s to go around.

February 7, 201412 yr Author I'd be happy to make it to the fight. Yeah don't think many UK fans would be disappointed with some of the runs the vest had at OSU.
February 7, 201412 yr Yeah don't think many UK fans would be disappointed with some of the runs the vest had at OSU. Same UK fans who have been trashing OSU for getting beat in January games?
February 7, 201412 yr I'd be happy to make it to the fight. You did in 2008 and also brought a knife..
February 7, 201412 yr You did in 2008 and also brought a knife.. You mean the 6-6 team that squeaked into the Liberty Bowl and beat East Carolina? I don't see the comparison. I'm talking about OSU going to 3 national championship games in the BCS era. Personally I'd be very pleased to have the talent to do that.
