Brohm was higher touted if we're just talking about our state as a whole.
May 3, 201313 yr Clyde you've obviously seen the Barker kid play. How would you rate him along side Couch, Lorenzen and Towles? Tough for two reasons. One, I didn't see Couch too much in high school. Two, too close to Drew to be 100% unbiased. I'll say this. His arm strength and ability to throw the hard slant or out is up there with all 3 of them. Different style than JLo but does have some similarities when it comes to keeping plays alive. I didn't see Pat throw enough intermediate passes due to their crazy ability to hit the deep pass so often so they're hard to compare. UL's QB coach was quoted as saying Drew has the best release of any qb he's seen in 20 years. Not bad.

May 3, 201313 yr Author UK or state of Kentucky? Brohm was higher touted if we're just talking about our state as a whole. UK..... But in those terms he is the best since Brohm.

Towles is already a sophomore so even if he red shirts it still wouldn't matter too much. Barker could redshirt his frosh year and then from there who knows. It would at least give Towles/Smith/Whitlow a couple of seasons to show what they could do, also allowing Barker time to develop and eventually slide in and take over one of those guys' spot.
May 6, 201313 yr UK class is currently ranked 18th best in country according to Rivals in their early rankings release. I understand things can change, but, I am so glad we are going after higher caliber players.
