I love the way Pangallo handles the ball, sees the floor, is unselfish, distributes, plays defense, and hustles on both ends of the floor. A PG doesn't have to put up 15-20 points a game to be good. And he doesn't shoot the ball 20 times a game either, so he's not going to score like other point guards mentioned. Pangallo does it all, and has few turnovers.

We agree. He's still not at Ruthsatz' overall level. Ruthsatz plays the role he has to play. Pangallo plays the role he has to play.

I agree with you that Pangallo is good. One of the better guards in his age group in Nky. i would like too see his scoring pick up this year.However, I don't know how he would compete with national high level talent. Seems like that the Travelers were just throwing things against the wall to see what would stick early on. I can't put Pangallo on the level of Bolden, McDonald, or even Beverly. I hadn't heard he tried out with them, and with a blog like this and the way the word travels in NKY you would think that would have come out sooner. Maybe I just missed it. Hopefully the kid breaks out even more this year! Should have a great team with him running the point.

 

 

I agree with you on Pangallo that's why I put him coming off the bench. IMO he is the second best point guard in the 9th. Would love to see him and Bolden play together that would be fun to watch.

I respect Money's b-ball knowledge but I obviously wholeheartedly disagree with him on this one.

 

I agree with "HeGotGame". I feel Pangallo is more of a traditional point guard whose primary role is to run the offense and get the ball into the right hands. Pangallo's point total would be much better if his primary role was to score like Bolden and Ruthsatz. Pangallo has not been asked to score because of his supporting cast.

 

I would bet his assist to turnover ratio is very impressive.

Lets be clear. You can't go wrong with who you pick. All are tremendous athletes. If I was picking a team and had Hatton, Bolden and McDonald, I would want Pangallo as my point. Similar to what it sounds like the Travelers are doing with Beverly and Bolden.

I'm actually comfortable with these selections by Asher. With such great talent in NKY it is hard to chose one over the other by position.

What I've noticed with the names listed throughout here, there is not one really dominate 5 like we have had in the past. I love Sculte's game, but he has just not shined as of now. My guess he will show us what he can do this year. I've always said he has potential to be player of the year in NKY. But when you combine him with McDonald you have your best bigman tandom we have seen in years. Hatton and Bach both made the Ky Jr. all stars this year, yet they should play the same position (2) and you have to pick one over the other? Brutal choice. Lot's of athletic big men such as Schuh, Trentman, Hemmerich, Chames--all can shoot, rebound and swat some shots. Bolden and Ruthsatz handling the rock for your team (along with Pangallo) gives you some of the best point guards we have seen in years. Holbrook can do so many things offensively it is hard to overlook him.

What we are looking at is some great hoops for this coming year. Kids that would normally be on a list like this are left in the shadows. It's a real shame if we don't look deeper into each team and appreciate the other talent that will be providing many nights of entertainment during the cold months.
