I was just adding in to the folks that said they have heard women say that they chose to try women since men didn't work. You never do hear men say that. I still think there is something somewhere(the brain maybe) that causes same-sex attraction. Now that I can buy. But I don't think it's in the DNA code. Again, I think it's an affinity. Just like you and I have an affinity for wings, some don't. I don't understand why they don't. I think it's just asinine not to like wings. You've piqued my curiosity with this Affinity vs. Genetic idea. I'm trying to differentiate it in my mind. Is the affinity there from birth or is it learned, shaped by environment, etc.?
April 30, 201313 yr I've always believed that it has to do with how you've been raised. Then I think about kids who are convinced they're straight for a long time before realizing they're gay in their 20's or 30's and then I think maybe it's genetic. In the end, who really cares?

Without getting too technical, expression of traits in the code can be altered by all of the things you said. I just don't understand how all of these educated folks simply assume some are hard wired that way. There's no evidence of that. I'm not even referring to the fact that the species would basically fail to thrust genes into the next generation if homosexuality was hard wired. Because we have friends who genuinely can't explain their sexual affinity and they're productive, smart, educated folks, it simply can't be a choice to act on the affinity for the same sex.
April 30, 201313 yr Don't know why any of this is, but... Gay people are gay. Straight people are straight. And the vast majority of professional athletes are complete morons. It seems like quite a few of them are tall, fast and extremely athletic.
