That would be my plan as well but I guess I should use this time to study for my stats exam tomorrow.

Not sure. From the sound of it so would every other MLB manager.

Who cares about every other manager. What would you have done?

With 2, 3, and 4 due up for the Reds? I go with Chapman.

I agree. Go for the win. Plus, as Brantley said, I like using the closer in the top of the ninth of a tie game at home. If you don't use Chapman there, you probably aren't going to use him in the game.

Why wouldn't you use him in the 10th if your team doesn't win it in the 9th?

If that's the case, then you could use him. But going to the 10th isn't guaranteed. Going to the bottom of the 9th is. And in that half of the inning, you have your 2, 3 and 4 hitters up. Theoretically that is your best chance to win the game so why not do everything you can (by using Chapman) to ensure those hitters aren't trying to come back but merely win it.

I wouldn't recommend waiting this out. Radar looks very bad.

I have no problem either way, but I would have had confidence in LeCure or Broxton putting 8, PH and 1 down in order.

Crash' date=' I honestly don't understand why you get so bent out of shape when anyone dares question a move by Dusty. There isn't a manager in the game that isn't 2nd guessed probably 100 times a year.[/quote']

It just gets old. The vast majority of my Reds conversation takes place on this site and it takes a toll. I know, then stay away. But I don't want to. I tend to give coaches and managers the benefit of the doubt.

So they pick this game up starting at 5:30 tomorrow in the bottom of the 9th?

How boring that would be. What would we talk about then? How sexy Rosie is looking?

Probably not a thought of Dusty at the time but if it was then could this also be why Dusty went with Chapman in the top of the 9th? Knowing that weather is coming and the game might need to be finished tomorrow? If he did think about that then maybe he uses him now so he can have him for tomorrow as well (2 games instead of 1).

The game. I don't know, maybe we don't watch a game in the same manner.

That would be my guess but probably earlier.
