I really believe there is enough talent at Lloyd for the Juggs to be a regular playoff winning team.

 

On the administration comment, is Molley still the AD there? If yes, then I have also heard people question the administration.

 

I have someone for them to consider - Steve Chevalier. He may not be ready to coach again but if family needs allow it, he could be a fit. He is a Lloyd grad, has a lot of energy, has a good track record of success as head coach at freshman level, coached at Beechwood so he has seen how to run a program, young enough to connect and motivate the kids. I have no idea if he has any interest but he strikes me as someone I would talk to if I were Lloyd. He isn't a teacher so if that is a problem at all, he is off the table. Otherwise, that is a name to keep in the back of your mind.

Heard some scuttlebutt about this for a few weeks, but didn't buy too much into it. Honestly, the move surprises me as much because of the destination as anything else.

 

New Richmond has produced some nice teams, but like Lloyd the talent is cyclical at best. The Lions have had a few really good teams, and some really bad ones as well in the last 17 or so years.

 

I don't want to bore anyone with too much from a demographic standpoint, financial standpoint, etc. The move puzzles me a bit though.

 

At Lloyd you can win some, but maybe never get past round three of the playoffs, ever.

 

At New Richmond, you may not always qualify for the playoffs, and seldom go past round three (if ever) but you could win or compete for an SBC crown many years. Maybe that's enough.

Why would he come to mind? 1-9 last year and outscored 419-121, including 313-25 in their last 6 games? 3 wins the previous season.

I'm not sure which is the better job in the long run, but the toughest part about Lloyd is the changing demographics and the NewCath mountain. Ohio pays better. It is meaningful to make the playoffs in Ohio, rather than just something you do week 11. New Richmond has better facilities. Lloyd does have the opportunity to be a 2 seed every year, but Holy Cross is not going to be bad every year. Facing 2 private schools that have won State Championships the past 3 years in District is tough. IMO, Lloyd (and Newport for that matter) was a much better job in the 4 class system. In the 6 class system, it is not as good.

Injuries I don't know about, but Brossart has talent in every sport they compete in. I find it hard to believe there isn't enough talent. I know, I know ... the talent isn't playing football. My come back to that is with the right coach, they would.

You're right about having the right coach. Reinhart was not it for Brossart and I don't think he's right for Lloyd either.

It was sad to here Josh Stratton was leaving. I also heard the young men of Lloyd was very upset last Thursday when he told them he was leaving however from what I hear Josh doesn't stay at one place more than two years at a time. I wish him well and he and his coaching staff were turning things around in Erlanger. As for Chevalier it would be great he had coached at Lloyd back when I was scouting for Rudi Tassini. A great young man with a great heart for players. Billy Lyons would be another good one however, with his son being a senior I don't think he would leave at this point. It is getting late and Lloyd will have to look hard for a good one at this point I wish them well. JD

I had heard that Coach Lucas has or was thinking about applying for the job along with another former assistant coach that recently retired and is thinking about coming back. I have not really looked into it because of what happened about 10 years ago. Oh well wish the Juggernauts the best. JD

Coach Lucas would be old hat. I think they need fresh blood there. But they need it soon.
