Nothing against Augusta and you all know I am a Scott fan, but just putting it out there. You are making this hype of Bach getting way too big! He is comparable to Kyle Scaggs of Russel, Mason Monroe of Pendleton and can't think of the name but a guard out of Perry Co. Central (all great players) but Scott shut down all three of these players who are comparable to Bach. I expect the same thing Tuesday. I think Scott will be a step ahead Tuesday night and will run away with this game! Look for a big game out of the big men for Scott, Nick Jackson, Kameron Crim, and Tyler Buckner. Nobody from Augusta will be able to handle the physical play by these 3 bigs. Take that back, Bach could but he can't guard all three. Predicted score---- Augusta 55. Scott 66. Close game until the 4th quarter, when Scott makes their run.

Also Scott will be more prepared as they only have to practice for Bach. Augusta needs to practice for mainly Jackson but also needs to work/prepare for the other threats from the Eagles like Castleman, Felts, and possibly Buckner.

Definitely not an authority on this, and I know there are those on here that could speak to this with much more certainity, but I believe "the hype" is created from first, his performance on the court, and secondly when coaches from schools such as Xavier, UC and others are coming to watch a kid, in this case, Bach.

I mean as in hype, he will get everything he wants when he wants it. That Kyle Scaggs had schools like UC and Xavier as well. Same with Perry County Central kid. Just putting it out there!

I know. Still felt like he was contained for most part of the game. Scott has slowed down James Bolden twice this year also who I feel is better then Bach.

No biggie. I see your point you made though. They are very well capable in letting someone go off for 30+. Cough cough Justin Saunders.whatever Scott team shows up will determine the outcome. If they come out like they did vs. Campbell it will be a blow out. If they play like they did vs. Cooper. It could be a close one. To be honest though, I don't see Scott loosing this one. Any way I look at it. I just don't.

First, as gold said, I don't believe Carr will prepare his team only for Bach. No doubt there will be attention given to how they'll guard him, but Augusta has lost games in which Bach played some of his best basketball. The Eagles need to give attention to Tanner Kelsch & also in guarding the perimeter shooters. The Panthers got a lot of open looks against Mason County & drilled them, going 10-22 from the perimeter. Augusta also gets to the free throw line a lot, especially Bach. Poor FT shooting has cost Augusta more than once this year, but it worked wonders against Mason County (18-20).

 

Offensively, I think Scott would be wise to work the paint early & often. I feel like Augusta's biggest team deficiency is its interior defense. Mason County was clearly superior to the Panthers in this area & did not take enough advantage IMO. Jackson needs to attack the offensive glass & I think Crim can certainly do some damage down low. I also feel comfortable in saying that Scott will enjoy an advantage when it comes to depth.

And this is a big part of what kept the Polar Bears in the game. Eli Florer had 11 points in the paint and they were all putbacks/and sets run for him. if not for 3 (i think) traveling calls he would have had 17. Cody Staggs got hurt, but even before that he was under utilized on the panther squad.

 

Haven't seen Scott play, but Crim's size definitely seems like it will be an issue for the Panthers. I'll be interested to see the outcome of this game!
