I know some on here don't like him. But he not only talks the talk , he walks the walk. Rand Paul is great for KY.
Getslow Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 I don't understand... he saved $600,000 from what? Is it that he ran his office for $600k less than his predecessor?

Every Senator and Congressman gets a budget to run their office. Paying for office aids, supplies, travel, etc. Rand Paul was able to run his office for 600k less than the budget he was given. So not only is he calling for the entire government to limit spending he is doing it in his office as well.
uselessinfo Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Now that you have to like regardless of party affiliation..................
rockmom Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 I believe a good portion of his savings comes from him sharing an apartment with his dad. Unless that wouldn't be considered in that savings total. I do agree that he does appear to walk the walk. And that's a good thing. But some times he's walking where I don't want to go.

Holding people accountable for their actions is such an awful thing. The nerve!

Greg Page Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Wow. Think of the savings if Washington among others did just half of what Paul did. I could use some of those budgetary cuts in my own spending too.

If they were able to have the money go back to the state they represent, I bet we would see a lot more of this.
