February 19, 201313 yr Frank Burns or Charles Emerson Winchester(for me old pharot face was tops). Henry Blake or Sherman Potter(Col. Pottor) Trapper John McIntire or B.J Honeycutt Klinger or Radar(Yeah I know they were there the same time until Oreilly left and I will go with Oreilly) What say you?
February 19, 201313 yr Are you kidding? The early episodes were the best. Trapper, Henry, Frank. Once they left, Alda took the show and made it a drama with a few laughs thrown in. MASH was overrated beyond the first three years.
February 20, 201313 yr Colonel Flagg, hands down. Don't play dumb with me, I'm too good at that! The wind just broke his leg.
February 20, 201313 yr I'm ambivalent, I liked them all. But if I have to choose: Winchester (a more worthy opponent for Hawkeye & BJ) Potter Trapper Klinger (except when Radar announces Henry Blake's death) Early Hawkeye over Later Hawkeye
February 20, 201313 yr Don't play dumb with me, I'm too good at that! The wind just broke his leg. "But you're not smart; you're dumb. Very dumb. But you've met your match in me." "I was a showgirl at the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas for six weeks."
February 20, 201313 yr Frank over Charles Potter over Blake Trapper over BJ (but this was close) Radar over Klinger Sgt Zale over Igor Father Mulcahy over Hot Lips other characters Col Flagg over Dr. Sydney Freeman Col Flagg was AWESOME!!!
February 20, 201313 yr On Burns v. Winchester, "better" is a tough call. I will say that the way they handled the transition was one of the best-done character replacements in television. Instead of trying to just put in another guy like Burns, they replaced the buffoon with someone who was, at least, the intellectual equal of Hawkeye and was often the more intelligent and superior doctor. From a storytelling standpoint, I think it made him a much better antagonist for Alda to deal with. Potter Trapper Radar
February 20, 201313 yr Wasn't and am not much of a MASH fan, nor am I much of a fan of "dramadys" over all...I want my comedys all funny, want my dramas dramatic, don't mix em please. With that said, I thought the Burns character was horrible, not funny in the least and made me NOT want to watch the show. Winchester was by far the better character and more interesting to watch. Blake over Potter for his "inept" funnyness. Trapper John over Honeycutt, never thought Mike Farrell was funny even when he tried to be.
February 20, 201313 yr Author At first when I was younger I didn't like MASH either. But as time went. I sat down one day and watched, thought it was kind of entertaining and toned in the next episode and I was hooked after that. Loved the movie version too. Gary Burgoff was the only original cast member that also was on the TV series.
