INDIANS WIN ON SENIOR NIGHT

The Montgomery County Indians defeated Scott High School 66-51 on Senior Night Tuesday in the Arena. The Eagles from Scott were difficult to put away but the Indians scored 21 points in the 4th quarter to take home the victory. Back to back steals and dunks by Darius Jones and Tyler Jones gave the Indians a huge burst of energy in the final quarter. Senior Omar Prewitt led the Indians in scoring with 31 points. Omar also pulled 8 rebounds and blocked 6 shots. Tyler Jones had some amazing passes and ended the game with 8 assists while scoring 10 points. Darius Jones was very effecient with only 18 minutes of action due to foul trouble scoring 10 points on 4 of 5 shooting which included 3 dunks for the game. Chase Hall continues to be active rebounding the basketball pulling 9 rebounds for the game. Junior Bryan Wallace saw his first action since the Toyota Classic and scored 9 points.

I think it is worth noting the impact that sub Lance Lockridge made on the game for the Indians. Scott had really controlled the pace of the game throughout, but when Lockridge came in during the fourth quarter he really sped up the Eagles and forced them into a pair of turnovers. The 5'6" (and that may be generous) guard also rebounded his own missed free throw to set up a bucket for Darius Jones. The last couple minutes may not have been as comfortable for the Indians if not for his contribution.

Someone said earlier that it was a 4 point game with 4 minutes left and Scott was without a couple of starters.

Was this a letdown game for Mongtomery?

I don't think so. MOCO was really rusty. It was also the first game back for Wallace and D. Jones was in foul trouble.
