I bet there are less than 10 from 32 teams making millions.

Well actually I bet there are at least 10. When you look at the NFL minimum pay scale

Here is the minimum salary scale by years of service (also remember this is minimum, most make more than minimum, also this was for 2011, the scale may have increased each year just like the salary cap)

Rookie $375,000.

2nd year $450,000.

3rd year $525,000. 4th year $600,000.

5th & 6th year $685,000.

7th - 9th year $810,000.

10th year $910,000

Every year after that they have an increase of $15,000

Seeing how kickers seem to stay in the league awhile I would guess many in the league at least 6 years are making at least a million.

Looks like it more than that. This list has 10 kickers that are at $2.3M+.

2013 NFL Top Base Salaries - Kicker

wow, seeing how the 10th highest paid kicker is making $2.3 mill I would guess there are plenty of millionaire kickers in the league

I have a hard time buying anything this dude ever spills. Not to mention, I'm guessing with a name like Skip, he likely has only enjoyed football from the sidelines. Just sayin'.

Gotta give it to him, he says enough garbage that sometimes we all talk about it.

This is probably the dumbest idea to ever come out of his mouth, and that's saying something considering how completely moronic the guy is.

That actually is a long held misconception. Special teams account for a third "phase" of the game but not a third of the game. In the Super Bowl for example there were 130 offensive plays, 5 field goals, 6 punts, 6 extra points and 12 kick offs. 29/159 plays is 18% of the game using the Superbowl as an example.

While exciting it isn't as much of the game as most people think.

Field position my friend. I know there isn't the same number of plays, but the value of having good special teams is a game-changer like have a good offense or a good defense. Teams adjust to other teams that have great return men. Look at Devin Hester, Leon Washington, Reggie Bush, etc. Teams purposely kick the ball out of bounds when facing these guys to preserve better field position for their defense.

Not to mention the Raiders and Sebastian Jangkfutehwoapkimckowski are in scoring position at midfield, it's definitely not something the point-starved Raiders would vote for.

I think David Akers would have lobbied for it this year.

Disagree.

Wow!!!!:scared::scared:

They get that per year? That's just nuts.

But they are also a couple of bad games from retirement. Akers was nearly replaced by Matt Stover (a guy who lost it) because Akers nearly lost it.

skip,,,,good idea.
