JV Regional Tournament

Featured Replies

Conner plays Calvary Christian tomorrow morning. I too am confused about how this all works out. Who made(makes) the brackets? Are they set up like normal tourney brackets so in the perfect world the number 1 seeds play for the finals, or is it just a hodge podge of teams? Why is it played in the middle of the season? Doesn't that make the remaining games after the tourney meaningless?

To favor Scott you would have to add New Cath and Cov Cath in this would you agree? Not sure about Cov Cath, but New Cath has beaten Scott twice this year.

New Cath and Scott have not played this year in varsity or jv

NewCath and Scott have not played at the JV level.

I apologize it must have been frosh.

I don't have any skin in the game yet. It was just a statement of fact. You took it to another direction and you seem to be bitter about it. Many JV teams play only sophmores and the smaller schools have to play juniors. Another statement of facts.

My oldest is six so I only follow from a distance. I just meant that it doesn't matter if they play juniors because that's why it's called JV. Ideally, frosh would play frosh, sophs play sophs and so forth but that's not realistic. You seemed to be upset about certain teams having juniors and judging by some of your other posts about jv basketball, I would have thought you had someone close to you playing jv ball.

Didn't mean to offend if I did. Was just curious why anyone would care about what other teams do. All you can do is worry about your team.

Cooper beat Newport today 32-25

Cooper is suppose to play Boone next. The 2 schools have to schedule the game.

Theoldguy up on his soapbox:

To those who seem to be a bit miffed that there is no source of information about the JV Tournament! :idunno:

Might I suggest you contact and offer your time and talents to post this information to this site to one of the JV coaches! :thumb:

I am quite sure that one of the JV coaches would get you in contact with the coach who is in charge of the JV tourney and I am quite certain they would love you being the coordinator or the media person! :notworthy:

It's one thing to complain about something but another to work to get the job done!

Theoldguy stepping down from the soapbox:

Not sure what their record is, but a coach told me Newcath was the best JV team in the area.

Holmes only has one loss and that was to Covcath. I know Herndon and someone else didn't play that game though so take it FWIW. Herndon forgot his jv shorts.

Didn't NewCath JV beat CovCath about 50-20? I remember that score being crazily lopsided.

New Cath plays Holmes this week, if New Cath wins they play Ryle. If Holmes wins, then Holmes advances past Ryle since they beat Ryle last week. My nephew plays at Ryle and gave me their rundown

NCC JV beat HHS by 4. HHS is about a .500 team. NCC is big, even on the JV level.

I have seen about a dozen JV teams this season, no 1 team stands out as unbeatable. Talent wise, if Schreck is playing JV, Dixie is pretty good.

The only game I've seen Holmes play and it be within 10 was the Covcath loss. They are pretty deep.

Hill, Herndon, Pouncy, Housely, and Glover all play jv and their bench is basically the freshman team.

It was ugly for CCH.

Schreck played and Dixie lost in the first round to Conner.

Saw Conner JV Saturday night, they were average. This surprises me especially if Schreck, Hedger, Bolin etc.... all played.

JV basketball is a crapshoot.
