I met James Bolden the other night and he's a little shorter than me so I'll say 5'11.

 

Ruthsatz is probably 5'8 or 5'9.

Nic Jackson outperformed Englemon. His team just beat Dixie and he defended Hatton on several key possessions in the 4th quarter on Friday and shut him down and blocked his shot 2 times. I was in front row for both Dixie and Holmes games. However, my analysis is that he is Top 5 in NKY. Hatton, Campbell, Bolden, Jackson, & Ruthzatz.

Englemon had 8 points, 10 rebounds that game...I wouldn't exactly call that lighting him up. And you failed to mention that Chames, Hill, and Englemon all 3 defended Jackson that game. It wasn't like they were matched up one on one the entire game. I seem to remember Englemon sitting a lot in the first half due to foul trouble.

 

Good player, yes, but top 3? Debatable. I'd put the top 3 in nky: Hatton, Campbell, Bolden. All three will be suiting up for a D1 program when they attend college.

Bolden is nasty but he has no discipline what so ever. I was at the Holmes Scott game and he threw multiple nasty blows to the face of Scott guards. None of these were on accident. He also is an undersized player but he is young and will probably grow a little. Hopefully matures too.

There is one player I really want to see but haven't had the chance to this year yet. Stanley for Boone Co. I saw him play as a 7th grader and knew instantly he was the man. He had everything, good size, great ball handling and a sweet shot. I knew he would be tough as he got older and thought with the team he played on in 7th grade would be the team to beat at Boone Co. All of those starters minus Thad Moss who moved, were going to Boone and thought that team would be something special. I don't know how the other players matured, but Stanley was the best 7th graderI've seen in a long longtime and can only imagine how good he is today.

^Stanley still is very very good, and getting better. I have watched him play since he was in 4th grade. He has a very nice shot and good basketball IQ. He is also very fortunate to be Boone's team leader and "go to" guy as a sophomore. So he is getting great opportunities to showcase his multiple talents. Very nice kid, too.

There are two Moeves. Tanner Moeves is the junior, broke his nose this year. Grant Moeves is the sophomore.

The Schreck kid at Dixie is a really nice guard with good size for a soph.

 

Liam Rabe plays well at the varsity level.

Bolden is far and away the best of the group and the "star."

 

The second group, you have a lot of kids that are contributing at the varsity level and are huge pieces to their teams' success.

 

The third group is a list of kids that will be good next year and solid role players for their team...Hart will probably lead Ludlow but at a small school it is a lot more common than other schools.

 

One kid that I think could end up being very good that nobody really knows about is Rod Avery at Holmes. He is about 6'3/6'4 and a really good athlete. Just needs to work on the fundamentals of the game and get stronger/more aggressive. The talent is definetly there. He grew a couple inches since last year so he is still trying to adjust to the growth spurt and have the coordination catch up.

If you are going to mention Bolin Hedger and Isabel, Blake Schneider from Scott should be there, he plays under Castleman and Pouncy for the Eagles. Good little ball player

Bolden, hatton, Campbell will all play D1 for sure. Ruthsatz is not a D1 player. His limited size will be the biggest factor. Second he has struggled against quicker stronger guards. Also, he doesn't play much defense, everytime I have watched him play he is just gambling all over the place. Great player at the high school level but don't think he has the capability of playing D1.
