January 2, 201313 yr Wow. I know he's old, but I really didn't see this one coming. For sure thought he'd be back for one more season.
January 2, 201313 yr I'm on record as saying that Ray's antics and theatrics are planned and are for the TV and microphone. With that said, the dude was a tremendous first-ballot HOFer.
January 2, 201313 yr Will he coach? I'd love to see him be a defensive coach at the high school level. For some reason I picture him coaching an inner-city team and being The Rock in Gridiron Gang. Great player, one of the best to ever play.
January 2, 201313 yr Will he coach? I doubt it. One , he doesn't need money. Two, he has a son in high school that will probably play some college ball. Three, the greats sometimes cannot be great coaches because they don't understand why their players aren't like them.

January 2, 201313 yr Nice to know that being a great football player is enough to excuse a guy for murder in the public eye. They're making me sick on ESPN right now with all the talk of how "inspiring" Lewis is. Ugh.

They're making me sick on ESPN right now with all the talk of how "inspiring" Lewis is. Ugh. Yeah, because you have unquestionable proof that he was guilty, right? Just because an athlete is present when a murder occurs doesn't ensure their guilt.
January 2, 201313 yr Author Kevin Hardy John Mobley Reggie Brown Anyone? All LBs drafted ahead of Lewis....

They're making me sick on ESPN right now with all the talk of how "inspiring" Lewis is. Ugh. Obviously there was not enough evidence to convict him. However, I'll always believe he had more to do with it than he claims.
January 2, 201313 yr Author Obviously there was not enough evidence to convict him. However, I'll always believe he had more to do with it than he claims. I think he may have attempted to help cover it up (he basically admitted to as much), but I've always been under the assumption that the police knew he wasn't involved, but went after him (due to his high-profile status) to get to the other two men. They were both acquitted later on as well.
