They host 30 plus hockey games a year that never come close to half of a sellout and they are perfectly fine with it.

And they should be fine with that piece of crap they have sitting on the river.....To each his own I guess! I forgot how high the luxury boxes were at US Bank arena. I hope everyone was medicated last night to watch that debacle....

Not sure how it's hogwash since a)they didn't show up and b)they sell out 10k per game at home.

Maybe X just doesn't have the fan base they claim to have...

That's funny coming from a UC fan who has 5k per game and MIGHT sell out a few Big East games.

Come on. XU shows up at Cintas regardless of how good or bad the opponent is. 10k per night. Support isn't an issue.

Maybe they're doing a silent protest to get it back on campus. Maybe they are protesting UC's refusal to play the game and let it die unless they played it on a neutral site. Who knows. I just know they didn't show up last night and they ALWAYS show up.

So X fans don't go to Reds or Bengals games? If they dislike going downtown that much......

Good question. Maybe they just dislike the crappy arena. Not sure. Maybe it was the protest angle.

However, to suggest X doesn't have the fanbase is asinine.

Were they also protesting their own BOT and President? They were a big part of the game being moved even if Bobinski and Mack didn't agree...

X outdraws UC for home games in a smaller arena and lesser opponents right?

UC doesn't draw well for buy games, but regularly outdraws X against quality competition. Of course some of that is the result of having 3K more seats in the arena...

Some of it?

X is at about 99% of capacity for the season on an annual basis. Let's not even talk about the # of alums in the area for each.

UC won the game and is the better team. I'd stick to that discussion. UC's apathetic crowds is not a winner for UC. UC had a really good team last year and got 11k on Senior Night.

Averaged about 8k per night for the season so the "regularly" isn't quite factual.

I only saw one apathetic crowd last night... :idunno:

I'll take that as an affirmative on my comments.

UC plays exciting basketball. For some reason they can't get consistent crowds to show up to watch. You can't ask the ACC to take you when you get 8k per game and 25k for football. UC fans WANT to be big-time but for some reason they won't help in the process.

Here is the reality of the situation Clyde. X has done a great job building a season ticket base through winning since the Cintas was built. UC did the same things through the Huggs years, and regularly had 13,176 no matter the opponent. Unfortunately the UC fan base was fractured through the departure, and have taken the stance that they will come to see big games, but aren't interested in Arkansas Little Rock. When that will change, no one is really sure, but that is where its at.

As for the poor showing last night, what it exposed is the reach of the X fan base doesn't extend much farther than that 8K base that buys season tickets. There simply aren't many "casual" X fans around town that will buy tickets when the season ticket base does not. And in this town X better hope there isn't a 2-3 season dip in performance. If there is, you will be asking why X only draws 5K for buy games in November...

We can either speculate or we can look at facts.

It isn't just Arkansas LR.

It's St Johns.

It's Villanova.

It's Pittsburgh.

It's everyone other than Syracuse and UL.

Were they also protesting their own BOT and President? They were a big part of the game being moved even if Bobinski and Mack didn't agree...

That is not correct.

Greg Williams drove this and was going to let it die. Fr Graham wanted it on campus.

X BOT had little impact on anything.

Over 10K last year for UL, Cuse, Marquette, DePaul, Nova and ND in Big East games. Under 10K for St John's, Providence and Seton Hall. There's the facts for you...
