December 20, 201213 yr That is not correct. Greg Williams drove this and was going to let it die. Fr Graham wanted it on campus. X BOT had little impact on anything. Both BOTs gave marching orders to their presidents to move the game to US Bank...
December 20, 201213 yr Over 10K last year for UL, Cuse, Marquette, DePaul, Nova and ND in Big East games. Under 10K for St John's, Providence and Seton Hall. There's the facts for you... My point is that 10k in a 13k arena for a huge school with a huge alumni base isn't exactly showing a ton of support. 2 sellouts is supposed to be impressive? Your support is noted but you have to admit that support for UC athletics is still disappointing.

The 500 or so seats in each upper corner are horrible and not worth the price if it was $5 a ticket. I'd watch the game from home on the big screen if offered those tickets for free 95% of the time. Reality...
December 20, 201213 yr You need a phone number? You can get your answer easily. Already have the answer. Thanks though...

Reality... Come on. Every arena has seats that aren't ideal. Ever sit up top against the side wall at Rupp? On bleachers at that? Yes, it's a bad arena. Boston Gardens was a bad arena. Let me add that hanging onto the "people are still mad about Huggs...." is sad. If people are really not showing up for that reason then they're simply not fans of UC.
December 20, 201213 yr Already have the answer. Thanks though... Beautiful. You first started by saying it was the President (not true). Now its the BOT. You know you can talk to someone IN THE ROOM at X but you still KNOW what is true? Come on. 100% driven by David Williams. X gave in.

It has nothing to do with that any more, but the fact is the season ticket base took a major hit through the fiasco and has not grown back to that level yet. It starts and ends there. You can't count on individual game sales to get to 13K. And until it does the seats with a better view of the scaffolding than the court will not sell unless Syracuse or UL come to town. It also didn't help that the previous AD had zero marketing sense and figured the tickets word sell themselves. Whit has done a much better job there but it doesn't change overnight...

True supporters do not punish the school and the program if they are truly fans. Too bad for the program. Good quality is there in basketball and football.
December 20, 201213 yr It's not just UC. Mo Egger @MoEgger1530 RT @rickbozich: In 100 home dates, Big East schools have generated 6 sellouts -- all by Villanova in 6,500-seat arena.

December 20, 201213 yr Did X fans punish the program in "protest" last night or not? Did you revoke their fan cards too? When it becomes a trend let's talk about it. Averaged 10,155 last year. Capacity is 10,250.
