There are about a million different coffees available now as everybody makes their coffee in K cups, even Folgers. Variety isn't a problem for me as I have tried several different ones that I like.

I am sure there is a very good variety but there are blends out there I would want to try that are not in k-kups. Plus, a friend of mine who I am investing with soon will become the sole distributor of Ethiopian coffee in the US and would want to use his blends, I want to try different things, maybe even mix some together.

 

Plus I don't like the price of k-kups.

 

I also would like a maker that I can just get hot boiling water, as I enjoy drinking tea, and I drink the best tea you can find so I want the water just right.

We love our Keurig! I bought hubby the K-cup insert so he can still brew his own coffee and we have had no problems with it. I make iced tea with it which is so convenient! Got a great deal on it at Kohl's. On sale plus an additional 30% off plus I got a $35 rebate!

 

I don't much care for tea out of Keurig machines. The way Keurigs push the hot water through the grounds so quickly may be decently suited for coffee, but tea needs to steep longer than that. I prefer particularly strong tea (I usually drink pure Assam or blended Irish Breakfast tea), so if anyone drinks their tea similarly to me, Keurigs may not be the desired method.

I tried a couple that I got off Amazon, and I basically just ended up with a whole lot of coffee grounds all over the inside of the machine and in my coffee. Does anybody have a reliable one that they'd suggest?

I bought one of those a couple years ago when I bought my Keurig and it sucks. The pressure of the water blew the coffee grounds back out of the cup and made a mess. I tried it several different times with several different type of grounds. I even bought fresh ground coffee that was a little bit courser than auto drip coffee, but nothing worked.

 

If this one works, let me know what type it is.

 

They must have improved them since then. This one works like a charm. It's got a lid that locks is place and a built in mesh filter basket. She puts one scoop in, pops it in, and then takes it out and rinses the grounds down the disposal. Takes less than 30 seconds to do it all.

 

Pretty sure it was made by Keurig.

I got it at Macy's for $11 or something like that. The advantage of that is they will always take it back if you don't like it.

CWF that looks like the thing I have, but mine always backed up and the coffee came out the top and made a mess.

I think there was an earlier version of these.

 

This one doesn't fit every machine. (some of the smaller machines I think)

My Keurig is terrible. It never works without me having to get creative. I have complained to them but they weren't willing to send me a new one. I wish a competitor of theirs would make a great machine, but I haven't found one yet by reading reviews
