December 6, 201213 yr This kind of relates back to the thread I posted about over-population of the planet. I am not anti-people, but we have basically infested the planet, over-run it, and will eventually exhaust its resources. I think our species can be smarter than that. The major issue with global warming is carbon dioxide poured back into the atmosphere from consumption of fossil fuels for electricity, transportation and industry. And more people impact this greatly. The climate does change cyclicly from cooler to warmer based on mainly Earth's absorption of heat from the sun and factors affecting that. However, what should be clear to by now is that the normal cycles are disturbed and trending up with the only plausible explanation being man's effect. A factoid: Human activities currently release over 30 billion tons of CO2 into the atmosphere every year. [1] This build-up in the atmosphere is like a tub filling with water, where more water flows from the faucet than the drain can take away. December 6, 201213 yr Well done papa. And there's an equal amount of literature (independent also) that presents argument against it. I've read alot about the climate change and the disruption of the layers, yada, yada. What I don't like is that there's no solid science in any direction. But I do agree something is happening and that's not really debatable. I don't agree that we can nominate one source.
