Ludlow Coaching Situation?

Featured Replies

I really hope Coach Randy Borchers gets the job. He knows all the players and the community well, and he knows football. He would be a great fit for the program and deserves the opportunity.

Another person I wouldn't mind seeing get the job is of coarse Coach Yeagle. I dont know if he has joined another school yet or not, but obviously he would be a great choice to replace Hensley to if he would want to come here. Plus he would get the chance to play Beechwood every year. I know that is a long shot that he would come here but who knows. :D

Not to take anything away from Coach Eckstein, he is a great coach who did great things at Carroll County and is now doing great things at Bellevue, but does anyone actually believe he scared off Coach Hensley? If anyone truly believes this, they not only know nothing about football in the district, but they also have no idea what it means to be a man.

Ludlow would be a nice fit for Borchers. He knows the program and I am sure the kids have bought into the system. Is he related to Mike Borchers? former coach and I think current Principal??? hmmmmm nepotism...

Don't believe the nepotism issue would come into play if Ludlow chooses to hire Randy Borchers. Yes his brother is the high school principal but Randy works under the direction of the Director of Special Education (Rick Smith) and reports to him. This is a district wide position that he currently has and not one that falls under the direction of the Principal. As football coach he would report to the A.D. (Joe Beard) so in this case I believe the nepotism issue would not come into play.

Bigzig said it right.

I wouldn't be so sure about that Zig . . .

"Athletic Director" is not an adminstration position. And, the way that schools are set up in Kentucky means that every teacher, coach, person who works in a school officially reports to the principal.

For instance--my "boss" may be the AD--but I report to the principal and the principal alone. Remember--only the principal has hiring/firing authority. The AD has ZERO. Which points right back to the principal in this situation.

The good news is--if the principal carries out the search in the right way (by including a "committee" and basically deferring to them in the hiring process), there is no reason why this couldn't happen for Ludlow.

I really don't see what was so funny about that post. Borchers and Yeagle would both make great coaches for Ludlow and while it is a long shot that Yeagle would come I think I would still rather see Borchers as the head coach. He has been with these kids when they were losers and winners and even turned down a head coaching job to stay the defensive coordinator. I think that while Yeagle may have a better resume that Borchers, more kids would play for a coach that they know is going to stay there and work with them through the good times and the bad.

:thumb: I agree. Coach Borchers definitely deserves the opportunity to be the Head Coach of the team.
