Ludlow Coaching Situation?

Featured Replies

In a way it does because the new coach will be in a district with private schools and independent schools and Ludlow itself is an independent school.

Yeah I know. I hope things get straigtened out so the private schools can just go out and get some of the best players. I know my senior year at Ludlow, Holy Cross would have never have beaten us if Armstrong and Stone wasn't on the team. We would have then got the 3rd seed and would have had a really good chance to make it to the second round of the playoffs instead of getting knocked out by Fairview in the first round.

Let it go they were legit players. Who their district high school did not offer a football team at the time. The were youths who needed guidance and the program they were invovled with thought HC was a good fit.

Let it go, I have a feeling HC will have quite a few wins over Ludlow in the years to come.

I agree with Futurecoach.

I have let it go, I mean we probably should have won that game anyways because we were tied going into the fourth quarter but then we just blew it from there... I was just commenting on the fact if with these new rules were in effect at that time then they probably wouldn't have been on the team and we would have definitely won then because it was them that really took over that fourth quarter to beat us, If they dont play then would have been different outcome. Even though we still had are chance to beat them and probably should have anyways with them playing.

And i'm pretty sure Ludlow will have quite a few wins over Holy Cross. :thumb:

I think HC would be a pretty sweet job with new facility and a pretty good talent base with the grade school programs just being in place for a couple years.

.

HC is nowhere near ready to host varsity games. A youth game requires parking on the grass. What would a varsity game do(besides the roads of Latonia actually being able to handle the traffic). The field could be ready this August. However, until HC/Covington resolve the parking issue, no varsity games will be played there. Too bad. Its a solid little complex.

That is in the works. The $100,000 they got recently is going to help finish alot of things up. It will all be fixed soon, and once the parking situation is fixed, the park will be one of, if not the best outdoor facility at NKY school can claim. It already is a nice facility.

To go back to the Ludlow posters, I will be shocked if Hc doesn't beat Ludlow atleast 70-80% the times they meet. Also the game a few years back with Stone and Armstrong. If those teams play 10 times most of them are blow outs.

Stud,

Are they doing anything about the possibility of flooding? Normally doesn;t hurt the playing surface (might actually help it) but can mess up everything else.

The drainage system and the whole flooding situation to my understand has been the major part in how long it has taken to develop this facility. They don't want to rush anything.

Trust me Cshs the city and HC has put to much into this facility not to finish up and get the proper parking. Its all in the works.

I dont know about that. They couldn't stop are offense all game long. Holy Cross has had trouble with that offense every year now since Hensley put it in. So if we would have played 10 times most of them wouldn't have been blow outs just because Holy Crosses defense wasn't that good and couldn't stop our offense. Holy Cross wouldn't have even won all 10 games if we played 10 times. I would admit they probably would have won more out of the 10 than us with Armstrong and Stone but we would would have won a couple times out of those 10.

As for the next rest of the times they meet, first it will depend on who gets the coaching job. It will probably be Randy Borchers or atleast it should be. If he is the coach then not much probably would change with the system so Ludlow should stay pretty successful. So Holy Cross probably wont even win next year. Ludlow returns mostly all of their starters from last years team that gave Holy Cross a great game with both teams just kept scoring after each other. So I think you might be a little quick on your prediction that Holy Cross will win 80% of the time because next year probably will be one of the first losses Holy Cross will be having to Ludlow of many for years to come.

I agree with you FC. There is no way you can say that Ludlow will lose to Holy Cross 70-80% of the time they play when you have no idea what younger generations are going to do.

The biggest difference between Ludlow and Holy Cross is in participation levels. That doesn't always equal talent levels. But it is an advantage to have 20-25 kids on a Frosh team to having 10-15. Even if not all those continue to play a roster of 45-50 is an advantage to a roster of 25-30. Some of that is due to the size of the schools but HC does usually have decent numbers for a Class A school with soccer.

Yeah true. But I know at Ludlow they have been having pretty good numbers. They have actually been able to put together a freshman and jv teams together which really never happens at Ludlow. That helps alot because they still run the same offense and defense as the varsity team but they also get a chance to run it in a game situation. So when they get to the Varsity level they are alot more prepared. That why I think Ludlows program is going to keep going in the right direction as long as they hire the right coach to replace Coach Hensley.

:thumb: I agree with futurecoach it is a little too quick to say that in the next ten years HC will win seven or eight of those games. You never know what could happen next year, let alone ten years down the road.
