I saw it and I don't think you can compare the two teams. Monroe guys are as close to brothers as you get... They do love playing for Petett and This season has survived on HEART...

SMASH is right about one thing. I should have stated that Monroe beat PT with heart, a great coach and teamwork instead of the way I previously stated. I sometimes become too overzealous in my post as a fan and forget that there are young boys becoming young men on the field. It will not be the last time or the first time that have I put my foot in my mouth .

Congrats to a very well coached and stand up talented team in Central.:thumb: They are a first class program with great kids, coaches and Fans!!!! These boys completely shut down the Monroe offense in the second half. I would be surprised if Monroe had 25 yds offense in the second half. Great ball game!!!

 

To the boys of Monroe...GREAT season and we as a Fan base are so proud of the way you played and conducted yourselves this season!!! 12-2 is an Awesome accomplishment...Loved watching and cheering for you guys!!!:clap::clap:

Central had three things that Monroe did not have this evening.........1.a great coach that the kids love and respect........2. A group of boys that play together as a team.......3. Heart

Just got home from a great game... Monroe held the lead at the end of the first qtr, at half time and at the end of the third qtr. Central won the game but they had to earn it. I couldn't be prouder of the boys from Roe, they laid it all on the line and a play here or there and they would be playing in a state championship. Not enough can be said about how good Central is. Several times tonight Monroe would appear to have a big play open up only to be tackled for a four yard gain, their ability to recover from mistakes or blown assignments is simply amazing. Monroe had very few mistakes in this game with the exception of a couple dropped passes, but all in all, Monroe played the game they needed to and still come up short, to me I have no regrets or feelings of what if, Central was just the better team. It would be nice to someday get to the championship game before having to play the champ, for years it was Fort Campbell and now Central. Of course Central still has to play Belfry, but it would be hard for me to see Central losing to be quite honest, but good luck to both teams.

This was an impressive performance for Monroe. They just came up a little short. Going into Central and taking them down to the wire is no small feat. Congrats Falcons.

 

Also congratulations to the Yellowjackets. I have a ton of respect for your team and staff. It is always a task to play Central and you always take everybody's best shot. Throughout the playoffs, you guys have found a way to win every week and we're looking forward to playing you again next week.

Congrats Monroe County Falcons on a superb season!! I know you guys in Tompkinsville are extremely proud of your coach, team & community as you should be.

If or when Central wins another title next week, is it time for the KHSAA to bump them up to 4A???? Should they be playing small schools like Monroe County, Belfry, Bell, Fort Campbell or would all be better suited if they played Lex Catholic, Boyle, Highlands?? Just something to ponder.

Unless their enrollment dictates such a move it is a moot point.

I'm not sure what their enrollment is but they dress over 100 players, participation must be at a high percentage.

The team that KHSAA needs to reclassify is South Warren. I know they are a new school but IMO the KHSAA needs to be more proactive about classification. No reason a 5A school gets to compete in 3A. With all that being said I'm fairly certain that Monroe will be back in 2A after the next classification...

Unless things have changed I seem to recall Central having one of the smaller male enrollments in 3A.
