Scrimmage games should be kicking into high gear soon. I know there are some at Scott County this weekend. What about elsewhere.

The Southwestern Panorama is this saturday featuring 12th region teams vs. outside teams. The Southwestern vs. Frankfort game should be a good one to watch.

I think HHS won the first half and CC won the second. It's really hard to tell how good each team will be because they were shuffling players in and out so fast. Both teams had some really nice runs, but both were very sloppy at times too. That's to be expected this early. CC is not a polished team that will woo you with great bball skills and smooth play, but they are blue collar hard workers that are athletic and they are successful playing rough and strong. That's a compliment, not a shot at them. They play hard!

 

HHS started 2 seniors, a soph, and 2 freshman. They have a couple kids coming off injuries that just aren't there yet. They will be good once they get all their strength and stamina back.

 

I think both teams have a lot. of potential.

Schaeffer and Daley both played well. A couple others had nice games too for the birds. Schaeffer seemed to be a little short on her jumper last night, but no worries there. I'm sure she'll get her "game" legs under her and be fine. The PG is back, but not playing point right now and not sure that she will. She may be a two or even three this year. However, she is one that is coming off an injury and will continue to get better with time. No matter where she plays, she will help the birds. She's ultra competitive and one of those kids you just want to compete with!

It is my understanding that Jesse "Dirt" Daley has decided to continue her basketball career at Thomas More. Nice pickup for the Lady Saints.

I thought Abner looked like she was not ready to be back on the court. Knee was noticeably swollen last night and she looked like she might be in a bit of pain. Hope she doesn't come back too soon and damage anything.
