How many kids does FC play both ways?

 

That is one thing that has not been talked about much. Both teams play several both ways. Cooper plays 8-9 both ways and has all year but with them having multiple receivers they have been able to rest a couple of players that are key to the defense. This should be a great game IMO and may the best team win because I truly feel whoever wins this game is headed to Bowling Green to the Championship.

I know little about Cooper, so like some who get on here and "claim" to know about a team or player or student body, when they have never witnessed any of that, I will make my comments constructive to the game and what I know. I am going to take the Flyers in this one 49 to 39. I believe our speed and athleticism will make the difference if we can get Cooper to play us in space. If not, we will struggle to offset their very well coached defensive team and strength up front. I think our defense has improved drastically over the last 3-5weeks. However, since I have zero knowledge of Cooper's offense, I will reserve any predictions about the outcome of that matchup except to say I do not think they have the two players Conner has in Fogle and Barker (both studs). A question that I do have, and maybe someone can answer for me, is what type of kicking game does Cooper have? Not all this on-side kick stuff, but rather field goal kicker and punter??? There are rumors flying that there could be as many as 4,000 plus people at this game! Wow, that would be awesome!!! Great environment for a high school playoff game.

I would be cautious about putting either of these two teams in the finals. If Harlan Co. Central wins over Pulaski Co., either team will have a VERY difficult time going to far southeast KY and winning. But, yes good luck to both teams. I am sure it will be a great environment and exciting game. We seem to make most of our big games exciting.

If the key offensive players for the FC are having to play defense against long Cooper drives that end in TD's, it could take away from the explosiveness of the FC offense. IMO, if Cooper is going to win, their offense is going to have to be their best defense. Control the clock, the tempo of the game and finish with TD's.

If it becomes a high scoring affair, I think Cooper may have trouble keeping up. Cooper seems to score a lot of points because of playing great defense and getting the ball back for the offense quickly.

This should be a great game.

Right I am excited to see what Cooper has to bring to the table. I am rooting for County but I love seeing new competition. Conner scared me, I'm not going to lie County got down 29-13 quick, but fought back and won like they have done all season.

That 3:30 stretch in the 2nd quarter was huge for FC and an implosion for Conner. Totally changed the entire scope of the game in FCs favor because it had the makings of Conner running away with this game with it being 30-12 so early. Didn't really understand all the on-side kicks and giving up so much field position but I hope Cooper comes up with something a lil better than that to keep the ball away from Timmons on kickoffs, he is dangerous but the others worry me just as much.

Your take on what you think could happen is the same as my take. I do know Cooper very well but never seen FC. Cooper's 2 best all around players are AJ Collins and Tyler Morris (RB, QB on offense and Safeties on Defense) They may not have the speed of a Fogle but they are very good runners. Both of them, Morris has been sacked very VERY few times because of his scrambling abilities which makes him very dangerous, Collins is just an all around great athlete) Cooper's kicking game isn't the best, but sufficient. Pretty automatic on extra points, field goals can be adventurous at times.

 

Cooper needs to play like they have the since the start of the playoffs on offense to at least keep the game from getting out of hand. If FC gets a couple scores up on them it could be very difficult to catch up simply because Cooper's offense isn't built for a quick strike type of offense, it's more of a grind it out offense and if they can keep it close by the 4th qtr then their ground game usually wears down the defense pretty good by then and they can get some big runs etc.

 

The key for Cooper is to try and not fall behind by a couple scores and it could be a good game. If they fall behind then it will be interesting. They've only fallen behind twice all year, Conner and South Oldham last week. So. Oldham they fell behind in the 3rd qtr and answered by scoring 22 unanswered points.

Whatever the outcome of the game is, I'd like to congratulate both teams for a great season.

 

For me personally, it's been great. Watching my boy play and the team having such a successful season following up last years season of first for the school with an even better season this year. 11-1 is nothing to be ashamed of. Next year may not be a great season for the Jags but this year has been an absolute blast. I couldn't be more happy for Coach Borchers who has gone through a lot in the first 5 years of the program. Whatever happens from here on out is just icing on the cake for the season. Coach has taught discipline and humility among his players and they have never gotten out of line all season and it really showed the discipline in the Anderson Co. game for no retaliation for some very dirty play that went on with 1 AC player. They all should hold their heads up high for having such a memorable season for the young school.

Wow 4000 would make for a great atmosphere for KY football. I think the Conner-Cooper game had about 2500 -3000 if memory serves me correctly. Shud be fun to watch.

I believe 4,000 is entirely possible! Especially if what we keep hearing about Cooper bringing 4-6 busses of cheerleaders, band, students, fans. We were also told that Conner may have a contingent there as well to watch the game. Parking is actually pretty good. We have the actual football lot as well as the entire front of the school and the teacher lot on the east side of the building. Also, Elkhorn Middle School has additional parking as well. None of the non-football parking lot options require more than a football field or two length walk. Food options on east side of town are several good mexican restaurants and BW3's! Should be a great evening for all, hopefully just a little better for the home team!

I don't think Cooper is having regular student buses. I am pretty confident that Cooper fans will have a strong showing though. Should be a great weather night for what should be a very good game.
