November 6, 201213 yr It was a pretty cool moment when all 20,000+ stood and gave "thumbs up" for Lane Goodwin's dad, who was on the UK bench last night:
November 6, 201213 yr I was very nervous for Mays injury, but it sounds like he might be alright. Kid was lighting it up last night and we are definitely going to need that from time to time. Wiltjer just coudln't hit last night and when he can't hit...he really shouldn't be on the floor. Harrow looked better in my opinion, shot the ball with confidende too. WCS is going to quickly become a fan favorite. The diving play where he knocked the ball forward to Goodwin was great hustle. Noel was finishing strong...love it!
November 6, 201213 yr Is Mays what Wiltjer is supposed to be? 6'2" guard vs 6'10" forward? Uhhh... no?
November 6, 201213 yr Very excited to see Big Joe Jennings get in at for about 4 minutes at the end of the game. He's in the records books too, pulling down one rebound! I know there is one extremely proud mama in A-town this morning as well as a huge # of supporters who made the trip down to Lexington to see Joe's Rupp Arena debut. So proud of Joe and glad I was one of those who could see it!
November 6, 201213 yr Coach Lane is a pretty funny guy. After the game: Tipton: Brian, what did you think of Willie Cauley-Stein in terms of a 7-footer kind of making plays out on the floor? Lane: When we started recruiting Willie, we watched him playing on the football field and I said 'a guy that plays football that's that big probably can't play basketball' so we stopped recruiting him actually.
November 6, 201213 yr Willie Cauley-Stein gives his thoughts on being posterized by Transy's Brandon Rash:

November 6, 201213 yr 6'2" guard vs 6'10" forward? Uhhh... no? Wiltjers job is to stand on the 3 point line and occasionally go to the rim.
November 6, 201213 yr Worried about the rebounding, especially earlier in the season. I feel like Noel will be a force on the boards once he understands fully how to use his body.
