Humor me if you will GT. Some UK fans want to point out that Jones's record versus the top 25 pales to that of Brian Kelly at UC. I believe you have defended Jones in this respect and said that Kelly really didn't leave Jones much, depth wise. In reality, what did Jones face in following Kelly roster wise and so forth?

BK left behind some big time talent at the top of the roster but there was zero depth because his recruiting was very poor. Tons of attrition in each class through not qualifying, reaches that never worked and left and transfers. That first year Jones had basically the starting unit and nothing behind them...

November 20, 201213 yr If there is he wouldn't be around long... And I think that's the route Kentucky should take. They should view themselves, at least to start, as something of a mid-major. Make smart hires, knowing that they might not last long. If you keep hiring smart, you can be successful. And you might stagger into a Bill Snyder-type who never leaves. Now I know that is easier said than done, but it could work.

Jones is actually a very good recruiter. He has been getting better classes at UC than Joker landed in the SEC. Recruiting isn't a concern. His personality is just a bad fit...

First of all, The Big East doesn't even compare to the SEC in terms of Joker having to battle it out with the several top programs in the Nation let alone in the SEC for recruits. It's a little easier for Jones to recruit in the Big East due to the lack of established programs BE.

I don't see Jones landing much better recruits than Joker had. Like I said before, It's easier for Jones to recruit at UC than it would be for him to do at UK.
