Romney at it again!

Let's see, didn't Obama say marriage was defined as a man and a woman, before he changed his mind? For votes of course.

That is racist to question the (this) President, he is allowed to change his mind on whatever he chooses, just ask MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, NY Times, Lex. Hereald.

Typical Repub, let's blame the media

You all need to read the transcript and watch the video a little more closely. It is beyond cavil that Romeny was talking about the $1.6 trillion budget deficit at that point, and the moderator only interjected the words "including disaster relief" right in the middle of a statement Romey was making. You all are far too inteliigent to begin parsing video and transcripts like this. If you all want to accuse him of not answering the original question - fine. But Romey did not state that he was opposed to disaster relief. At best, he might be construed as having stated it was a state issue and not a federal one.
Whoa Hearsay! Why bring facts into this?

Well, let's look at the transcript, beginning with the question asked.

KING: What else, Governor Romney? You've been a chief executive of a state. I was just in Joplin, Missouri. I've been in Mississippi and Louisiana and Tennessee and other communities dealing with whether it's the tornadoes, the flooding, and worse. FEMA is about to run out of money, and there are some people who say do it on a case-by-case basis and some people who say, you know, maybe we're learning a lesson here that the states should take on more of this role. How do you deal with something like that?

ROMNEY: Absolutely. Every time you have an occasion to take something from the federal government and send it back to the states, that's the right direction. And if you can go even further and send it back to the private sector, that's even better.

Instead of thinking in the federal budget, what we should cut -- we should ask ourselves the opposite question. What should we keep? We should take all of what we're doing at the federal level and say, what are the things we're doing that we don't have to do? And those things we've got to stop doing, because we're borrowing $1.6 trillion more this year than we're taking in. We cannot...

KING: Including disaster relief, though?

ROMNEY: We cannot -- we cannot afford to do those things without jeopardizing the future for our kids. It is simply immoral, in my view, for us to continue to rack up larger and larger debts and pass them on to our kids, knowing full well that we'll all be dead and gone before it's paid off. It makes no sense at all.

So no, the moderator didn't inject FEMA into the discussion. The question was about disaster relief and Gov Romney thinks it is something the federal government can't afford to do. It is a legitimate and defensible position, but don't try to pretend he didn't say it. I happen to think that the Gov is wrong. But then again, like many of his positions of the past month, it depnds on the day he was asked.

Nothing the old future used car salesman Mitt says that wont be different a week later lol. :idunno: Good news is after next week when he's defeated he can flip flop on that dressage horse all he wants back in Michigan or Massachussetts or wherever he makes his next home. Talk about where Obama was born. Geesh

By the way, Hearsay, if I didn't capture enough of the exchange to give its full meaning, please expand the listing from the transcript.

I am about as far from racist as you can get!!! LOL!!!

I do find it laughable that the Left screams about Romney changing his mind/tune but it's OK for Obama to. SMH.

No, you printed the same thing I watched on video. I just think the tenor of his answer was about the things creating a $1.6 trillion deficit. I would agree with anyone who suggested he didn't answer the question (as politicians are wont to do), but disagree that he specifically said he didn't support government disaster relief.

It looks pretty clear to me.

Agreed. It's obvious Romney was answering the 1st question King asked, King interupted his answer, and the Gov. ignored his rudeness and continued with his answer.

Same can be said for Obama. They both flip flop all of the time.

Welcome to American politics

The first question was about disaster relief. If anything, Mr King gave him a chance to exempt disaster relief. Instead, he doubled down.

I know it was. He didn't answer the question. He started talking about getting rid of programs that weren't necessary. Never said he was going to get rid of disaster relief.

I say po-tay-to; you say po-tah-to.

As is often the case; it depends on the redness or blueness of one's political stripe.

Well, I kinda think Romney was right. Those electrical workers from Alabama drove all the way to New York to help get them back with electrical power and the Union turned them away. Called them names, and told them to get out they were scabs and hurting their families.

Of course these workers from Alabama were not union workers (not paid by the Government) and just wanted to help.

Sorry, If I'm in the same situation that NY and New Jersey are, please, I don't care who you are. If you are willing to extend a hand, I would be forever grateful.

This is a situation where you have people that want to help and people will help, we always do. But with attitudes and red tape, it makes it hard to help or want to help.
