Not true. Dixie and Boone enrollments are bare barely over 700, yet they compete in the same class as T, X and Scott Co that have enrollment >1300.

TOG, I'm not trying to get into a tit for tat thing here, I just used Dixie as an example. I could have easily used CCH since I have relation that went to both. I was just trying to make a point about picking from a larger pool is always more advantageous than a smaller pool.

They are not born in Ft. Thomas or Louisville, they just migrate there!!!!!

To be honest with you, all of NKy 6A should be 5A. Scott Co. does not have to compete for athletes and has higher enrollment. And T and X, well, they should playing NCAA teams!

Because kids want to compete for state titles and in 6A nobody but T or X is ever going to win in 6A. Scott Co. has everything a public school program could want to compete in 6A, but T and X are still 4 td better than SC.

6a is a no win proposition pretty much. The 2 Louisville schools have a monopoly on the state title. I don't see it changing in the near future.

Enrollment size absolutely matters. Is it the end all, be all of success? Absolutely not.

 

Let's use Scott County and Trinity to compare...

 

The 1200 boys that go to Scott County live within the district boundaries of Scott County. They go to school at Scott County and then decide to play football. The kids work hard and have a very nice football program.

 

The 1400 boys at Trinity live in 2 states and multiple counties. The boys that play football at Trinity also decide they want to play football at Trinity and therefore find a way to go to school at Trinity. You add a very strong work ethic and great coaching, you see the success that Trinity sees!

 

These are 2 very different concepts of how the boys become enrolled at each school.

 

But now you are talking substance of the enrollment. I'm talking size. People say Trinity is better because they have so many boys and that isn't the case. the reason why those boys are there may be what's different. No the number of them. Again, Highlands is a smaller school with less boys.

Dunbar is one of the biggest schools in the entire state and aren't most of the schools in Lexington 6A schools? The best two schools in Lexington are smaller than the rest. Enrollment size matters? Come again....

The best football played in Lexington is Catholic. Who doesn't have to abide by district and is like Trinity and X by those rights.......SMH.

Tates Creek has the smallest enrollment in 6A. Should be a 5A by definition....
