I would be curious to see the percentages of how much of Iran's exports go out through Syria versus the Persian Gulf. I would say whichever is larger could rightly be called "Iran's route to the sea" in the context of a foreign policy debate.

October 23, 201213 yr Didn't hear a whole lot on the topics of drone strikes, NDAA, Patriot Act, foreign aid to countries that don't deserve it. When they talked about America leading the way, and being the hope of the earth -- they meant we will commit troops to any country that doesn't do what we want, we will will crush the regime in place and install a better one. October 23, 201213 yr Although he'll repeal it, I think he'll keep parts of it in tact. We need real change in health care, especially in cost. Obamacare doesn't address enough to make it affordable IMO. I also feel that in the area of health care, Romney wants to let the states have more of a say in the way they want to handle their health care. Obamacare is national health care. I'm all for letting the states decide what is best for them and getting big Government out of issues that state governments should and can handle.

Are they going to haul their ships from Iran through Iraq and to the "sea?" Big picture: means nothing unless there is something special about the route traveled by Iran.

Why would the route to the Med sea be most important? It's the Gulf that matters to Iranian shipping and they have access there. The truth is that the answer was botched. End of story.
