What do they gain by beating JCC? I'm confused as to how winning that impromptu game benefits Trinity. They are already receiving national recognition. They already have one of the toughest schedules in the nation in high school football. Why make it harder? What do they gain? JCC gets an opening and Trinity is just supposed to jump at it because you want them to? That's rich.

I agree with you CF! I would think if asked the KHSAA might agree to let them schedule it this late, it would be great exposure for KY football! I don't buy the "they will cash in with their 100th state title" when they could possibly reach higher, such as winning a national title.

I just loved watching Moeller, before they went off the cliff, bringing in top teams in the nation to Cincy to play, just about every year. It's great for the kids, fans, and the area football.

I'm all for Trinity and Highlands to play the best and beat the best but IMO it is silly to say Trinity is running scared from a team trying to schedule a game in the middle of the season. That's unrealistic and unfair to Trinity. If they can make it work...cool. But that's asking a lot and I sincerely doubt that the current GCL champs, Trinity Shamrocks, are going to run scared from anyone. Weren't they trying to schedule Don Bosco last year AFTER the season was over?

I don't get it, what exactely does playing JCC in a prompt to game do anyway for Trinity? Makes no sense. It's like the Bengals being upset that on their bye week they want to play the Giants 2 weeks before their bye week and wondering why the Gikants don't want to play.

 

Just silly. If JCC likes, they can get a hold of Trinity and put them on their schedule next year or whenever. 2 weeks before the game is pretty late in the season to all of a sudden get upset that Trinity won't play you. I'm sure Trinity isn't afraid of JCC, JCC should of asked after last season if they wanted to play them, then they could of signed a future contract or something.

 

Hey Cooper has a bye week next week, can I say Trinitty is scared of Cooper because they won't play them next week? That is the philosophy that about sums this thread up in a nutshell.

If this game were a possibility (which I hear it is not), T has two options: 1. decline the game and let the T haters say they are scared; or 2. accept the game and let the T haters say they put too much emphasis on athletics and national championships. It is a lose-lose for T. They have played the most aggressive, high quality schedule any team from Kentucky has ever undertaken the last two seasons, lining up against some of the best high school football teams in a four state area! But they're "hiding" from John Curtis? Please...

And for the record John Curtis's offensive scheme is a lot like X's so the Rocks probably wouldn't have too much trouble with them. :sssh::lol:

Why does it take more than two weeks. JCC is willing to travel to Louisville to play the game. The gate would be real good and as long as JCC's costs are covered, what's the big deal?

 

I understand it's a lot to do in a short period of time but if Trinity wants to really cash in on this very special Class of 2013, I can't think of a better way to do it.

 

I know that when Colerain was the best team in the country in 2004, they would have jumped at the chance to play a national OOS power. I would have thought Trinity would do the same.

I have to agree with some of you all. Wait til the offseason and then schedule them for next year so it will have time to get national attention and maybe covered by tv such as ESPN, ABC, etc. etc. instead of rushing into it at the end of the season...JMO
