He throws 100 so effortlessly. With the way Mujica and Boggs have been hit, I would consider it if I were MM.

I would at least try to get him in some in the 7th and if Boggs continues to struggle look to give him some work in the 8th. Depending on what happens with Garcia they may have to move Lynn back to a starter.

Tight strike zone so far. Several pitches both both pitchers inside the TV strike box but called balls by the umpire.

Paul Emmel leads the bigs in runs scored while umpiring, he has a super tight strike zone. He have discussed his name and game several times in sports gambling thread. 29-5 overs to unders going into yesterday and with so many runners left on that game should have been a lot higher scoring.

Yeah missed over 2 months.

It's amazing how they can reconstruct and elbow but still can't figure out shoulders.

Yeah you're right though, Tommy-J, we typically know right away. Shoulders, we usually go with the rest first and then try again and then have surgery. I kind of had a feeling this would eventually require surgery. With all the stress a MLB pitcher puts on his shoulder, if something is wrong in there 2 months of rest probably isn't going to fix it in the long-term.

He's off the roster for the remainder of the NLDS and NLCS if they make it...

The Rosenthal kid for the Cardinals looked impressive. 1 inning pitched, 3 strikeouts. And he was throwing 100 mph heat.

Shelby Miller or Sam Freeman (Lefty) will take his spot. My guess would be Miller, since he is a swing and miss guy.

Joe Strauss said many in Cards clubhouse were not happy with the fact that Garcia went out there and pitched the most important game of the season thus far, if he knew he wasn't 100%. IMO Garcia was in a lose-lose situation because if he doesn't pitch he'd be labeled "soft".

Very impressive, he throws with such ease. He actually hit 101, which was the pitch Zimmerman hit the other way for a base hit.

Rosenthal also throws a 84 MPH hard slider. He had trouble locating it last night, but typically has pretty good control over it. I know they project him in the starting rotation for the future, but with starting rotation already crowed with current players (Carp, Waino, Westbrook, Garcia, Lynn) and prospects (Kelly, Miller, Wacha) I wouldn't mind seeing this kid in the bullpen. He's just got shut down stuff.

I bet Johnson wishes he could go to Strasburg out of the bullpen to shut the Cards down right now.

Nationals are done. The Cardinals are going back to the NLCS.

It's ridiculous, Carp pitches a shutout every time he makes a post season start it seems. Hate that guy. :irked:

Carpenter has thrown 89 pitches in 5 innings. Probably time to bring in a reliever.

Say what you want about Carpenter, he may be thin skinned, he may be a baby, may be a sore loser, but the guy is a bulldog on the mound. He can flat out pitch.
