October 6, 201214 yr I'm rooting against the Cardinals because I'm jealous of how good that franchise has been the last several years. I do think that the Reds new ownership has drastically closed that gap the last several years though. The last 2 or 3 years have started what should be a great rivalry the next several years. I just want the Reds to get a World Championship in before the Cardinals get another one in.
October 6, 201214 yr For the Cards, Wainwright is tired and will need full rest (preferably extra rest) for any starts he makes in the playoffs. Lynn has been hot. Garcia is really good at home and bad on the road. Carpenter is close but not quite himself yet. Lohse is solid. The series with the Nationals has Sunday and Monday in St. Louis, and Wed, Thurs, Fri in Washington. The rotation will depend on if Matheny wants to use Garcia in game 2 (home game) or leave him out of the series all together. He could go: Sunday - Wainwright Monday - Garcia (6 days rest) Wednesday - Carpenter (7 days rest) Thursday - Lohse (5 days rest) Friday - Wainwright (regular rest) If he wants to skip Garcia, it will probably be: Sunday - Wainwright Monday - Carpenter (5 days rest) Wednesday - Lohse (regular rest) Thursday - Lynn Friday - Wainwright (regular rest)
October 7, 201214 yr Come on Nationals!! Chris Carpenter is my second most disliked player in baseball (behind Ryan Braun).
October 7, 201214 yr Tight strike zone so far. Several pitches both both pitchers inside the TV strike box but called balls by the umpire.
October 7, 201214 yr Author Gio had a no-hitter going, but was down 2-1! Freese gets the first hit for St. Louis.
